Mainstream liberals not liking communists is not anything new or shocking.
Saudi Arabia realized they don’t like Houthis with drones blowing up their extremely vulnerable oil refineries, tanker ships and desalination plants and that Iran can pressure them until they buckle eventually. There mercenary armies with US intel assistance, logistical assistance and advanced weaponry (jets, helicopters, tanks, anti-air, etc) were getting owned by literal sheep herders trained by Syrian soldiers and Iranian advisors. Houthis had captured so much equipment that their army had grown like tenfold over the course of the war without any domestic production of tanks or helicopters.
Saudi Arabia basically crumpled when they decided to call it off and make peace with Iran. They were accepting defeat and pissing off Israel, who wants eternal strife and war and pressure on Iran.
My theory on the big 3 reasons why Saudi Arabia flipped to neutrality and stopped being an American client state: 1) crippling damage by Houthis and other Iranian/Syrian proxies and feeling very vulnerable and undefended by the west 2) Seeing the west seize Russian reserves in the hundreds of billions (one of the biggest thefts of all time) alienated them greatly and 3) Having the EU/West manipulating oil prices to undercut Russia also hit their bottom line and they don’t like the western sanctions and meddling
