It's pretty all encompassing, and can't be shortened. I only found it a short while ago, otherwise I'd have posted it sooner.

It basically covers:

  1. What to wear, what to bring
  2. Various tactics for different situations
  3. Quick medical aid primer
  4. How to organize

and more.

You can quickly skim the document itself here: https://theanarchistlibrary.org/library/bfc-revolt-guide

Organic Maps leadership became sus, so the community forked.

More details here: https://news.itsfoss.com/organic-maps-fork-comaps/

tl;dr they began to introduce proprietary code and were caught using project funds on personal expenses and vacations.

Woah, I missed that the MNT mini laptop costs that much, that's wildly out of my budget. I think the Mecha thing is much cheaper (and a better form factor), though I'm not sure if it can use cellular networks.

Anecdotally, I have found a similar experience modding slrpnk. It's been (IMO) extremely low in drama, and due to the theme, the community is filled to the brim with incrediblely pleasant people who make it a joy to participate in, and often step up to moderate abandoned communities and reduce the load on us admins.

Though it probably helps that we're still a smallish/medium sized instance, require written applications, and defederate from a small handful of instances to decrease potential conflict.

I love skewmorphism, personally, so I wouldn't mind a return to that paradigm. If it was pixel art skewmorphism, ugh, I'd be in heaven.

GrapheneOS only supports Google Pixel phones.

GrapheneOS have provided an update in a reddit thread, looks like you should be OK to go the pixel route. Check the OP for details.

If you mean when they say:

Having our own devices meeting our hardware requirements (https://grapheneos.org/faq#future-devices) would reduce the time pressure to migrate to new releases and could be used to obtain early access ourselves. Based on talks with OEMs, paying for what we need will cost millions of dollars.

~~I don't think they're saying that they will~~, they're pointing out how expensive it would be to do so ~~(I.E, unlikely as they do not have the funds to do it).~~

Further down they clarify when someone asks what they mean by a GrapheneOS device:

Working with an OEM partner to make devices built to run GrapheneOS. We have a list of hardware requirements at https://grapheneos.org/faq#future-devices which are provided by the currently supported devices (Pixels). It would be very hard to make new devices meeting our requirements. We would need the community to raise a substantial amount of money in advance by preordering devices. We would need to incorporate substantial costs for development and long term support into the device cost.

Edit:

I was wrong! Graphene has clarified that they will, in fact, pursue creating their own hardware. Check main OP for details.

“the 11th and 12th decks are specifically used to transport hydrogen and natural gas-fueled new energy vehicles.” The green LNG-fuel-powered vessel will be used to service European markets via the Cape of Good Hope route, as well as the China-Brazil route, “and other strategic pathways,” the manufacturer wrote.

Disappointing. From the headline, I thought the container ship itself was electric, like with an Iron Air Oxide battery as described in this article.

As it is, the article is basically just saying "Hey, this EV company got their own fossil fuel powered transport ship. And there's some fossil fuel cars on a couple decks too! Cool huh?"

Their military is in shambles. Satellite photos show their armored vehicle stockpiles are virtually empty, to the point where they're sending some troops on suicide runs using ATV's, golf carts, and motorcycles because they don't have enough APC's to spare.

They are in no shape to invade anyone besides ukraine.

Ehh... It's probably safer than a stock android even somewhat outdated, but eventually there may be some severe exploit that will never get a fix.

You're in a rough position right now, difficult to see what the future holds. Perhaps graphene overcomes this issue, perhaps not.

Looks like they were all purchased by a group science fiction fans, so hopefully things turn out well.
