Here's hoping there's a final push for SKG, then!

The campaign was designed to save all future games, The Crew was just a useful catalyst to launch from, since it was a very visible example of what they were fighting against.

But yes, saving games is pretty minor compared to stopping literal fascism. It's just a shame that PirateSoftware fucked the campaign so hard, and stopped a big influencer from basically pressing the 'win' button by talking about it.

It used to be a fork of Mint offering the desktops they dropped, but since they switched to Debian as the base, I don't know of any reason to pick it over Debian itself, it's pretty pointless, AFAIK.

It's not too bad once it's installed, which pretty much just requires navigating to the folder with the installer and typing in the name of the installer .exe or .bat file, then following along with the installer.

After it's installed, you can quickly launch it with a single command, then navigate to your document within WordPerfect (which is compatible with .RTF and .TXT documents), and initiate Grammatik.

Some parts of it are rougher than others, but I'd say it can still be pretty fun.

Now I can't stop imagining him pronouncing MAGA like an anime girl saying Baka at the end of every sentence.

You can sometimes find good quality used cookware from thrift stores (goodwill, habitat for humanity, etc).

For new, Costco has some pretty good deals on stainless steel pots and pan sets from I think Tramontina. They're pretty highly regarded, and should be a BIFL. I bought a small set of them, and can confirm they're pretty great.

I'm a pretty huge fan of Adam's earlier films, but I can't help but feel like this one missed the mark.

In particular, I was disappointed with the ending, which

spoilerconcludes with "Will we join together as we did in the past and fight back?" Only to then pull a... I dunno, inception ending moment by saying "Or is that just another feedback loop of nostalgia? Which is how the system controls you, and is the way this film was made."

What an absolutely useless and weirdly post-modernist conclusion. It makes me think of Lee Harvey Oswald's friend he focused on in a previous serious that wrote an article in Playboy about the illuminati to showcase how stupid conspiracy theories are, only to eventually believe his own lies later on and become a conspiracy crank that drank his own cool-aid.

It makes it seem like we need to second guess everything we do (which is stifling), instead of it being a pretty clear cut issue of capitalism, with fairly straight actions to take toward fixing it.

Consider directing that rage into the methods seen in the Chile documentary in my first response (I edited it in, so you may not have seen it).

I think it's good to be prepared for a civil war scenario, but we should be doing everything we can to avoid one.

Don't be a hostage of the gun... But have one and know how to use it well.

Unfortunately, the liberal party in Germany ultimately became complicit with the Nazi party.

Our current democratic party is completely corporate captured, and do not have any ethical fortitude to stand against the regime. They are cowards who will take the easy path, even at the expense of us all.

Let's try a general strike first, since if the military doesn't fracture and join us, you're looking at open slaughter (or at best, The Troubles)

Look how powerful civil disobedience and an extended general strike was against the regime in Chile back in 2019.

If the more liberal parts of the movement didn't go for the reform bait, they would've won.

If they become a worker owned cooperative, they may be able to find a credit union that will give them a loan to grow (there are some that specialize in helping cooperatives). Likely not as much as VC money, but far more sustainable, and for the workers who work there, far more equitable and ethical.

If they take the VC money, it is fairly inevitable that they will want to sell their share of the business and bail at some point. The least they could do if they take the VC money is actively encourage and facilitate their workers to form a union with the IWW, so at least they have a head start in bargaining with their VC overlords after he cashes out. But that scenario is far less ideal than a worker coop.
