Text Version.

  • US-backed Israeli forces and private contractors have put in place a flawed, militarized aid distribution system that has turned aid distributions into regular bloodbaths.
  • The dire humanitarian situation is a direct result of Israel’s use of starvation of civilians as a weapon of war—a war crime—as well as Israel’s continued intentional deprivation of aid and basic services, which amounts to the crime against humanity of extermination, and acts of genocide.
  • States should press Israeli authorities to immediately stop using lethal force as crowd control against Palestinian civilians, lift Israel’s unlawful sweeping restrictions on the entry of aid, and for the United States and Israel to suspend this flawed distribution system.

“This report is a searing indictment of DOGE’s false claims. At the very same time that the Trump Administration is cutting health care, nutrition assistance, and emergency services in the name of ‘efficiency’ and ‘savings,’ they have enabled DOGE’s reckless waste of at least $21.7 billion dollars,” said Blumenthal. “As my PSI investigation has shown, DOGE was clearly never about efficiency or saving the American taxpayer money. I urge Inspectors General to take up our investigation’s findings and initiate a comprehensive review of DOGE’s careless actions.”

guaranteed basic income

This has been studied a lot of times and mostly there is usually 2 concerns:

  • How you will finance the whole thing?
  • How do people act when you give them extra money?

Now, for the first concern: I had never seen anyone even answer it theoretically.

For the second concern: there is a mixed results, some studies suggest that people productivity gets lower, others suggest otherwise.

I don't see this even applied in a small village.

Just to be clear, I am talking about the widely known UBI, there is NIT and even other universal welfare schemes. IMO, even other universal welfare schemes has their own set of unsolved issues, and very experimental and idealistic in nature.

Using something like Negative Income Tax?

The reason I am asking is because I had never heard of it being applied in practice, outside experiments and pretty minor payments.

I was not able to find a system that is better than the current one on my own.

That make me wonder if there is any other system or variable to change to get a better outcomes for us as humans and for the climate.

In the first part you say that socialism - the idea of taking care of people whether or not they produce economically - is not practical.

No,

Socialism: economic and political philosophy encompassing diverse economic and social systems characterised by social ownership of the means of production, as opposed to private ownership.

In the second part you worry that people won’t be able to produce and participate economically.

Yes, exactly which is based on the current economical reports and analyses, which all are currently saying that the number of new hires are very low, due to all businesses not wanting to hire, reluctance to hire.

Why do you feel that way?

Kindly, read my post.

Have you done any research?

I had search pretty lightly, but I was not able to find any suitable solution.

What have you learned so far?

At my current level of knowledge, I learned that there is not a specific system that I could find and believe in to be better than the current one.

OK, let us try again here.

Poverty and hunger.

[–] Pro@reddthat.com 0 points 2 weeks ago* (last edited 2 weeks ago) (1 children)

How do you do that?

That is from my opinion, impossible to achieve.
