Totally agree! I'm hoping to make it a solid one-hand-use experience.
For themes, we're only going to have light and dark to start with. But eventually I do want to support user customizable themes. Just something on the roadmap for later.

I think a big part of it is that when we are young, all of these are new experiences to us. And as such, they carry a lot more emotion and stimulation.
As an adult, you've experienced many things. To some degree, your brain is likely acustomed to it.
Something that helps is breaking out of your routines and experiencing new things. I've heard our neural pathways described as the grooves that form on a hill when sledding. When you first slide down the hill, you're making brand new grooves. Each trip is different and unique. But over time, trails get established and you end up using the same worn trails over and over.
Experiencing new, bespoke things is like breaking out of the trails and making a new one.
At least, that's my understanding! I'm not a proffessional, just someone who can relate to what you're describing :)
When I was little, the Gremlins movies terrified me! Not sure why since they're super campy, but π€·ββοΈ kids are weird.

Iβm really curious to see if any of these options can pan out long-term. Itβs extremely expensive to host video, and it seems like it could be a real challenge for federated video hosting to take off at scale. Iβm hopeful!

I have not made any of the code public yet, currently it only exists on my laptop. Haven't determined what licensing to go with yet. Hoping to figure all that out over the next few weeks!

I'm not opposed to a megathread per-se, but it does feel like we'd be doing more good by focusing that energy on improving the docs and keeping those as the central source of truth. PR's are always open/welcome.
Happy to revisit this if there is a strong demand for a megathread, but in general I don't feel like we have enough content flowing through this community just yet to justify it.
