I think the McCaskeys get rid of him after the season. They arent Jerry Reinsdorf. They fired Trestman after 2 seasons, Fox after 3 seasons and Nagy after 4 seasons, but 2 playoff seasons and after his worst record was 6-11. The one thing you cant fault George on since taking over is keeping a HC for too long. I definitely think Flus is gone unless he wins out by some miracle to end the year. Since Lovie the only coach to survive 2 losing seasons has been Fox, and i think they gave him a slightly longer leash just because of his prior experience. And Flus is on track to finish year 2 with the worst record in bears history. Dont see how he survives that.

I agree on Harbaugh and Ben Johnson (harbaugh is offensive minded btw) but completely disagree on EB. His play calling was terrible today and from what i have seen (and heard from Washington fans) is a lot of what Howell is doing is making plays out of nothing moreso than Bienemy scheming plays for him. Some of the calls today had me thinking Getsy was coaching.
I didnt like the focus on getting a defensive minded HC since we needed to develop Fields, but i also understood why the bears leaned that way since their prior hires did the same thing (going from Lovie to offensive minded Trestman to veteran defensive mind Fox to young upstart Nagy to defense again in Eberflus) but my concerns was the stats of the Colts looked okay on defense while he was DC, but fans were very happy to see him go which wasnt a good sign. My biggest issue was the fact they only seemed to interview Dan Quinn (another defensive minded HC because Ted Phillips has a type) and Jim Caldwell to go with Flus and neither of those looked like great candidates for what the Bears needed. I wanted Daboll, but he is Fat Nagy and i dont think we really missed out on him. It wouldve been great to see the Bears interview some young upstarts like a guy named Mike McDaniel or even O'Connell, but that was never going to happen with Polian consulting the Bears. So yeah, like i always do i had high hopes for whoever we hired but ended up disappointed. Rinse and repeat this offseason and will be back here in 4 years if we are lucky, 2 or 3 years if being realistic lol.
I can definitely see Warren possibly firing Poles since it isnt like he was the one that hired him. I definitely feel better about the direction of the team since we have Warren vs still having Teddy boy as the President and needing former GMs of the league from 20 years ago to consult on decisions. I think all we can do is hope that Kevin Warren will truly right this ship, since i will unfortunately be a fan until the day i die and hope to see the Bears win a Super Bowl or 4 in my lifetime...
Eric Bienemy is a terrible OC. There, i said it. Those 3rd down and 4th down playcalls were Getsy bad. Man Washington is a mess its tough to see Ron Rivera go out like this
Is it safe to say Bienemy sucks as an OC?
There are examples of teams having winning records after letting a coach go, but i dont think you fire a coach midseason to try to save the current season. It is more to see if the issue truly was the coaches or the players. I believe it allows you to have a new way of looking at the roster and evaluating players heading into the offseason that you may not get while keeping a bad coach around.
I think if Arizona remains in top 5 they definitely grab MHJ if they cant get Williams or Maye. As for our pick at 5, in that situation id hope Poles trades back like he did last year and maybe we can recoup a 2nd rounder or something. With MHJ and the one tackle off the board i think we trade back a little since i dont think there will be that much of a drop in talent from 5 to say 10 or 12. And IF Fields plays well and we still get nunber 1 id look to trade with maybe Arizona to let them jump Giants for Williams and then we take MHJ at 3.
I think stupid sexy T-Law is the only QB from that draft that most would take over Fields. I think Fields is the second best QB of that draft, but this may also be a historically bad QB draft, with now Fields being the only other QB in that first round to not be benched. Wilson is terrible and Lance cant seem to get past QB2 on a depth chart. And Mac Jones seems to have been destroyed by whatever the Pats did to him last year and hasnt been able to come back under O'Brien. So yeah, i think T Law is the only QB i would take over Fields from that draft.
My body, my right to pass for more than 2 yard screens!
This is kind of where i am at. There is still a chance if we trade down from the first overall pick we gain another first next year, that we can use on a QB if Fields continues to suck with a new coaching staff. There is still too much uncertainty with the top QBs this year where im find kicking the can down the road another year while grabbing 2 legit starters with our 2 picks this year (MHJ and someone else). The chance of Williams going to a team and becoming a stud are just as high as us taking him and Fields turns into a stud on another team. Give me the players who are less likely to be busts this year
I think if we got MHJ you could argue we would have the best WR duo in the league. Waddle/Hill, Chase/Higgins (depends on Higgins FA), Brown/Smith, Moore/Harrison. I think that duo would rival Hill Waddle as the best in the league. But no matter what i think today further cemented MHJ as the best prospect in this years draft
