It costs $273 (without VAT) in Germany

The European price is VAT-included.

Not that that makes it a good price by any means.

Have you heard of the dark web? It’s the part of the internet that isn’t publicly accessible, not indexed.

No, that's the deep web.

Data on the internet can, and often will, get lost, paywall or not. And I don't see the issue in paying creators, who often also have to put a lot of money into making their videos. Seems preferable to having to rely on sponsorships and ad revenues.

I imagine they care about the players who didn't, who, let's be real here, make up the majority of players on emulators.

That's true, but it would also be far from the first time for a mod to go nowhere due to people biting off more than they can chew. I'd be happy to be proven wrong though.

Looks great, but I'm skeptical if it'll ever see an actual release. Remastering the entire game with the kind of asset quality we see for this single room would require an enormous amount of time and effort, especially with people working for free.

I think "stealing" from reddit is fine, but the automated stuff sucks. Lemmy isn't just supposed to be a carbon-copy of reddit. Having everything flooded with reddit posts would lead to Lemmy just being a dead "Reddit archive" without original content or engagement. Just look at places like /c/AskReddit@lemmit.online , completely dead. Lemmy doesn't even have the userbase to actually engage with such a large amount of content and having thousand of bot posts will be incredibly detrimental to the community.

Missed opportunity not to give it significantly better color reproduction IMO. Just the anti glare with an otherwise minor improvement doesn't seem worth the cost and hassle.

I guess this means that all the speculations about Mario's voice in Wonder not being Martinet were probably true.

[–] PonyOfWar@pawb.social 2 points 2 years ago

Cool, I will give that a try.

Does this work on SteamOS now or do I still need Windows?

Mario & Luigi: Dream Team Bros, because the tutorials never stop. Even 20 hours into the game, it will explain which button to press in exhausting detail every single time. Gave up the game due to this.

On the opposite side, ΔV: Rings of Saturn. The tutorial does a really bad job of explaining the (very unusual) controls of the game. Worse, you can accidentally leave the area during the tutorial, which cancels the tutorial altogether so you have to restart the game. That happened to me twice. Third time was the charm though, and I did enjoy the game afterwards.
