I think the reactions to their article actually demonstrate very well why this blog post needed to be made. If we‘re willing to immediately give up on net neutrality because in this case it would have benefited a bad actor, we might as well not argue for net neutrality at all. Pointing this out is important and I don‘t think it‘s tone deaf.

Maybe work on dismantling those?

That‘s what they‘ve been doing for years, decades even. Just because it hit the „right“ website this time doesn’t mean this particular net neutrality violation should be ignored. On the contrary, it would be hypocritical for them to argue for net neutrality for years and then be like „oh well, those KF people suck so this time we‘re fine with it“. And why does it matter if anyone is suing? Is net neutrality only for those who have the motivation and/or means to sue?

You‘re missing the point. They want the police to act in these instances, that’s what they‘re there for. They don‘t want infrastructure providers to play the role of the police, as that sets a precedent that providers can just decide which websites they want to provide to you. It’s step one to a future where the internet you get will only be facebook, youtube and twitter.

Sounds like MLM bullshit at best, or something illegal like being a money mule at worst.

Ich finde es eher naiv, aus dem einen Satz zu schließen dass sich die Ermittler der Bundespolizei nur ein paar IP-Adressen angeschaut und dann gesagt haben "Jap, waren Ukrainer". Ich bin mir sicher dass sie sich der Existenz von VPNs bewusst sind.

Ist eben einfacher solche Restriktionen bei einer Gesetzeslockerung zu definieren, als zu versuchen neue Restriktionen einzuführen gegen die es eine starke Lobby gibt.

Die Regeln betreffen nur öffentliche Orte.

The first games I played were some Windows 3.11 and DOS games, like Microman, Space Quest V and Civilization (which I didn't really understand, mostly liked to build up a palace lol). But what really got me into gaming was probably my Gameboy Advance with Pokemon Gold.

I'm still confused what happened to the post that compared critic and audience ratings of the various Star Trek shows. It was an interesting post with an, as far as I could see, civil discussion but it was deleted. A later post asking about the reason for the deletion was also promptly deleted. Heavy moderation is one thing, but it bugs me a little that there is seemingly no communication about why that post wasn't okay.
