Wonder when companies will finally stop pretending that consumers want AI all the time everywhere, while usage data clearly shows that's not the case.

Technically correct, but what they call a "free trial" is effectively a sizable free tier of the game. The entire base game as well as the first two expansion can be played for free with no time restrictions.

I don't recommend it, even for free. Lots of grinding with heavy P2W elements. There are much better options for free MMOs, like Guild Wars 2 or Final Fantasy XIV.

The thing is, it would be far from the first time for fans of certain Internet personalities to manipulate petitions or polls on a massive scale. Yes, there has been a lot of genuine new support for the campaign, but I'm not sure I trust that there wasn't quite a bit of botting as well, especially with how many new signatures there were even during late night and early morning hours. It's unfortunately also quite trivial for some countries (like Germany) to enter fake signatures. Even without coordinated botting, I'm sure there were for example some Americans who saw how easy it was to enter a random name and did just that.

I'm really happy about the support the campaign received but I think that, realistically, we're not over the finish line yet and have to keep campaigning for more signatures over the next few weeks.

Edit: Seems Ross agrees

The petition (along with the Pirate Software drama) has recently been covered by quite a few very popular content creators like MoistCritikal, Asmongold and Pewdiepie. I think that made a lot of difference, as their videos on the topic have millions of views.

Metroid seems like a prime holiday release.

Maybe Hyrule Warriors in september and Air Riders in november. But we've seen so little of Air Riders that I wouldn't be surprised if it gets delayed.

I just hope it's natural traffic and not a ton of bots. The recent acceleration in signatures has been great to see, but also a bit... suspicious. In any case we should keep collecting as many signatures as possible after the million, as there will undoubtedly be fake/invalid signatures that will be filtered out at the end.

Their settings are adjusted on a firmware bases by pressing different buttons together on the controller.

That's also the case on newer 8bitdo controllers to be fair. You don't have to use the software often but when you do, it's indeed a pain.

Yes, proprietary software on Windows or Android. It gets even more "fun" though, as you need to use different software for different controllers. The "8bitdo Firmware updater" works for controller like the Pro 2, but if for example you have the Ultimate 2 you need the "8Bitdo Ultimate Software 2" instead. That thing will also crash if you have any other 8bitdo device plugged in. So yeah.

Should be the ability to freely remap their controls using the Steam Input interface. They've always worked on Deck as regular XInput devices.
