I had a rule for family emails setup to filter out anything from them with FW: or FWD: straight into the trash. It was never once an issue with anyone asking if I saw their comment or question.

Agreed, except Isaac Hayes never wanted to quit. The fucking Scientologists did it “for him” while he was incapacitated in the hospital. Reportedly, Hayes loved doing the show and wouldn’t have quit on his own.

Trey and Matt have simply said that they miss their friend.

Thanks for that. I’m not a Discord user, so I hadn’t seen that. It’s not a total reversal of their previous position, but that is a little different. They didn’t say they’re definitely going to stop the open source plugin, but that is certainly not a commitment to it either.

I would say that open source means anyone is free to fork their work and continue on with it if they can’t. They’re trying to make a living like anyone else, and they’re trying to be self employed. The reality of that situation is that most of their decisions need to be through the lens of how they feed and clothe themselves.

Ironically, this reads like an LLM wrote it.

I thought it was super obvious that it did.

People don’t vote based on community rules. You should disabuse yourself of that notion.

There are several reasons why people may be hesitant to see LLM-generated content on social media:

  • Authenticity Concerns: Users may feel that LLM-generated content lacks the personal touch and authenticity of human-created content.

  • Misinformation Risks: There is a fear that LLMs can produce misleading or false information, contributing to the spread of misinformation.

  • Quality Variability: The quality of LLM-generated content can be inconsistent, leading to frustration when users encounter poorly constructed or irrelevant posts.

  • Emotional Connection: People often seek emotional resonance in social media interactions, which can be absent in automated content.

  • Manipulation and Bias: Users may worry that LLMs reflect biases present in their training data, leading to skewed or harmful representations of certain topics.

  • Over-saturation: The potential for an overwhelming amount of automated content can dilute the value of genuine human interactions.

  • Privacy Concerns: Users might be concerned about how their data is used to train LLMs and the implications for their privacy.

  • Job Displacement: There may be anxiety about the impact of LLMs on jobs related to content creation and journalism.

  • Lack of Accountability: Users may feel that LLM-generated content lacks accountability, as it is not tied to a specific individual or source.

These concerns contribute to a general skepticism towards the integration of LLM-generated content in social media platforms.

I guess I’ll be the black sheep here.

I like Junk Store. I’ve had a better experience with the Decky Loader plugin than I have had with Heroic, namely Heroic made it difficult to login to my accounts and refused to stay logged in. I’m not criticizing Heroic, and I’m appreciative of it as an open source project. Perhaps those issues have even been resolved since I last used it. At the time though, I wanted to stop logging into my accounts each time I wanted to see my libraries, so I gave Junk Store a chance.

I still use it, and I just decided to try out this new version. I’ve been using Linux since the late 90s, and it’s been my primary OS on all my systems since 2008. I’m no longer accustomed to paying for a lot of software (games aside), but doing so will help keep the free (and open source) Decky Loader version going for everyone.

I understand not liking subscriptions, and $40 is a bit high, but keep in mind it’s optional. The plugin version remains and will remain free according to the husband and wife team behind Junk Store. They’re very easy people to talk to if you need anything at all, and they have a passion for what they’re doing. I think it’s super shitty to call them greedy because they’re offering a paid option alongside the free one.

There’s a lot of variability in materials, even before you get into the “+” or “pro” versions.

I’ve been printing Voron parts in ASA plastic for the last several weeks, and some of what I’ve used smells very strong but prints best on the cool part of the range, others smell hardly at all but print better hot. (I’m filtering fumes, worry not)

Yeah PETG does require different temperatures than PLA. Glad you got it sorted

I’d like to see it happen to Mar-a-lago

That’s ridiculous. I’ve never had optical camouflage, advanced weaponry, and I’ve never hunted a human.

If nothing else already suggested works for you, let your printer bed warm up to temperature and sit for a while (“heat soak”).

If you have auto bed leveling, what can happen is that thermal expansion will change your bed level after the probe has run, so by the time the first layer is printing, calibration is off. Granted, this is less likely with PLA, but like I said, if nothing else works.

Through the Borg Queen, all things are possible. Jot that down.
