Let's compare the current day top dog, Galaxy S 25 ultra, against 5 flagships from different brands in 2012, including Samsung's own:

Some of these had bigger phones like the Galaxy note, but these were flagships for their brands. These were the poster boy devices each brand trotted out to show off their capabilities. These were flagships.

And this is just Android phones, I'm not even considering iPhone or windows phones.

So get fucking wrecked. When they made phones as big as modern day flagships 15 years ago, they didn't call them phones, they called them "notes" and "tabs"

He is wrong.

I'm asking for small flagships.
They used to make small flagships.

Flagship doesn't mean biggest, it means best.

If settle for a small non-flagship phone with a flagship camera pod and display tech. But they don't make those either.

The phone you see on that left is a pixel 7 pro.
Is the pixel 9 pro much smaller than that? Because I wouldn't call the pixel 7 pro "small"

The phone on the left is a pixel 7 pro.

So, yes, by modern standards.
But no, as you can see by the comparison to the phone next to it.
And that's kind of the point I'm making.

Lol who said I wanted "the smallest and most compact"

You've lost the plot here, take the L

Best doesn't have to mean biggest.

I want all the fanciest best shit, and I want it to actually fit in my hand

Because, like I said in the post, flagship phones have the best cameras, and I take a lot of pictures

Image sensor and optics quality drop off pretty quickly once you leave flagship territory.

It's true. Idk why people are down voting you

[–] PeriodicallyPedantic@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 months ago

I know they exist, but I specifically mentioned flagship phones because they have the best cameras and screens, and I take a lot of pictures

[–] PeriodicallyPedantic@lemmy.ca 0 points 6 months ago

Even that's too big.

That's a pixel 7 pro on the left, which is only a little bigger than the 7a. I want something way smaller

[–] PeriodicallyPedantic@lemmy.ca 1 points 6 months ago

It is lol

Know what's even crazier? I've installed a launcher on my pixel 7 pro to give me a Windows phone homescreen.

Fuck Microsoft, but those phones were banging. If only anyone made apps for them
