As a certified looter, I will pick up your samples/support weapons and backpacks when I find a way around. I usually go with EAT and 3 strike so my backpack slot is most of time empty. I usually drop it back to owner if they died in opening or if it's long cool down item.(like those util backpacks.)

After the mission, if you see the map is clean without much dead diver stuff on minimap, it's a pretty good efficient run. :)

Because FSR3 is really new, released Sep 2023. Even the games that actually can patch in FSR3 didn't get to do it properly until Avatar nailed it and just earlier this month released another update to push it further. In short, AMD is working with devs to improve their plugin integration to various engine devs, and I don't think 3.1 is the "end goal".

FSR 3's result really depends on how developer understand and work with the proposed render pipeline compare to DLSS(which basically runs AI kernal to guess what pixel values to fill). Especially with games that features pip scope(fake UI scopes with on the fly fov changes are fine) or some translucent elements where it can not do the velocity buffer properly. (basically most of the fringeness on edge or flickering/swimming are mostly from precision, and ghosting are from wrong velocity when you see the old FSR artifacts).

I know, it's that they probably have the console optimization left in so any CPU that's not 8 cores might get the short end of the stick. We will see how quickly capcom can patch that.

the reviewer from Eurogamer has a 7700X(which has exactly 8 cores like PS5) had pretty good performance review, which kinda match what I guessed.

It's probably some glitch due to the performance settings for PS5/Xbox series X and then porting to PC. Chances are if modern CPU we try to limit the max core available to the game the performance would become better then letting it use full cores.

Plus, whatever anti-cheat/anti-modding stuff they put on the PC.

  • flag is considered a movable objective(like SSSD, heat increase when approaching)
  • instant max heat when divers pick up the flag(patrol spawn rate highest possible for the difficulty)
  • detection rate max for flag carrier(enemies can spot at max sense range under the weather condition), can't go crouch or prone, can't dive. no support weapon/backpack. (you drop whatever support weapon/backpack you carried)
  • flag will take damage across difficulties with modifier, if flag destroyed then mission failed. (ie. you can't call strike on your flag carrier and then go carry the flag yourself. Nor use damage the flag carrier as bait to thin out the hoard chasing. )
  • to account for potential damage to the flag, divers can raise the flag at designated(maybe a mission called down) spot then salute to the flag to repair/restore damage.(length according to the damage/dirtiness to the flag, drones can fly out to "repair/clean" the flag so it's not too magical)
  • mission rating is how fast and how clean the flag get to the final spot.
  • no extraction, just defend the location, upon timer ends, a fleet of pelicans and eagles will arrive to wipe enemies from the map.
  • squad mates goes to parade on the capital ship of super earth after scene faded out.

Honestly there is only a couple ship upgrades that requires super samples that have some significant impact on stratagems. (like the +1 Eagle 500kg bomb one) The rest I usually feel really underwhelming after upgrade and test them out also at lv7+. So yeah, if people already struggle at lv4~6, they can certainly play at that level that they feel more comfortable and fun. Like I frequently just do a lv2 to do the daily personal order. (like kill 100/200 enemies with weapon.)

As a frequent lv7+ player, you have to get used to quickly check up and know if you are in danger of the mortar(green/red) quickly any way, so if you can't do that yet then yeah, you are gonna cry when you got instagib from those unknown explosions and call them unfair. And no, I am not some crazy one tap all weak spot pro e-sports player.

For mortar it's actually quite easy to avoid if you are in a pretty messy fight, aka, you are doding the hunters and patrols heading toward your location. Just follow these simple instructions.

  • mortar fires in group of 3 rounds when it detects enemies. It slightly predicts and shoots a bit spread out where the enemy was heading.
  • when you hear the mortar popping, look up a bit like you would look for bile spewer/automaton mortar, you can quickly know if mortar is heading your way. this is useful for location defending situation and mortar is near by, less applicable if it's sound are masked out if too far away. But if mortar not heading to your location, fine, if it is, start dashing away from where you were.
  • You should be able to avoid 1~2 shots just by moving away, and if you see the shots are "chasing you" then you have to turn 90 degree either way and dive and stay prone until 3rd shot landed.
  • If you don't have enemies around you then you are safe for the next round, but if you do, kill the one closest to you in the next 5 seconds.

Bonus tip, mortar have close range limit, means if you stay near the mortar you can defend it better + not getting hit. So if the squads bring more than 1 mortar, make sure they are deployed closer. It's still very useful tool even for high level eradication or any mission objective that you need to clear and then defend.(ie. like ICBM generator and the launch pad, SSSD upload), also good for clear base and distract in automaton side so you can go in and wreck then leave.

source: https://gpuopen.com/fidelityfx-super-resolution-3/

FSR Quality preset for 1080p only render at 720p, while DLSS Quality render at whatever next available resolution the fits so it would likely render at 1600x900. It is possible to render with Ultra Quality preset similar to what Avatar developer made at 1.2x upscale, but it does not come in standard. The video have over half of benchmarking using outdated version(only 2 on FSR3) and comparing pretty much different tech. Anyone with decent enough graphics tech knowledge knows it will not have good result with FSR since it does not doing use AI to help filling the missing pixels. AI is surprisingly good when doing upscaling and filling in the details( if you know what those image generator do at internal res and keep upscaling and tweaking the images), while shader solution relies on input information for better work. Means, if the input frame rate or resolution is too low, it's not gonna work as intended. (similar to the newer optical flow frame gen also rely on frame rate being stable for better frame gen result. )

You don't have to like AMD nor FSR's result, but comparing result while ignoring the implementation detail and what are the techs are for is like comparing beer and scotch and then complain why scotch doesn't give you the burp.

there seems to be a black screen driver bug or something for the windows sleep power management function that plague quite a bit spectrum of cards. In my case it's not DP but when my GPU go sleep on older system, it just can't wake up anymore.(both monitor, one DP one HDMI) that includes the shorter auto sleep mode when you lock the computer.

My newer system doesn't have that issue even with the same monitor/port. So it must be something like BIOS for MB/monitor/GPU and system all together that the protocol from say, windows and GPU is updated, but the MB or the monitor is not. Unfortunately, I can't get any more newer BIOS for my old 4+ years AM4 MB nor for the 3+yo monitor. I simply disable the monitor sleep function and all is good, I just need to turn off monitor manually.

I mean I can abandon HDMI if not for consoles to only supporting HDMI output. Like how many people still trying to rip dvd or blueray through a console??
