Trying to watch Ukraine/Israel war news on twitter gets me blasted with reactionary shit semi-regularly. It's pretty funny how fast someone can go from measured analysis of Iran's strike capacity to "woke is ruining videogames!"

Guy I know that lives 30 minutes from Tampa didn't evacuate desolate
He's high enough that he shouldn't get hit by the storm surge but still

Machine learning is extremely important in a lot of STEM fields. We aren't talking about ChatGPT here, but any situation where a computer is being trained on a large dataset to recognize patterns. It's allowing for techniques to survey large amounts of data that wouldn't have been possible before, except maybe by having a dozen grad students work on it for months.

I don't think we're gonna get a hurricane made out of lava that turns into a black hole but you never know

No, it's very standard "damn this shit is boring" meeting texts. If they specifically said it was due to antisemitism and not "unprofessional conduct" or whatever I'd be getting a lawyer

Imagine going from crack with hookers to being advisor to the president. Like he's obviously a stooge but still what an insane pivot

Chinese Shinzo Abe meme

Since July 8, 2022,
Shinzo Abe has not uttered a bad word about China,
paid respects to war criminals at the Yasukuni Shrine,
involved himself in Cross-Strait Affairs,
nor has he whitewashed WWII war crimes!

I was thinking about trying it tbh. Probably because I don't think of EU4 when I feel like a fantasy game.
The gigastructures mod for Stellaris got updated recently as well, it's a good time to be a paradox fan

The author estimates that limiting consumer vehicle height to 1.25m would save around 500 lives per year in the US

Incredible find in the Amazon - a network of roads and cities that would have housed a civilization at least as large as the Mayans. ~6000 mounds, population in the 10,000s or potentially 100,000s, all around the same time period as the Romans.
