"I have much more misery to inflict upon the industry first!"

It's a pretty clear conflict of interest that they do that IMO. It means they have direct monetary incentive to demonetize as many channels as possible so that they don't have to revenue share. It's pretty infamous how often creators lose their first day momentum on a video due to a false positive, but google actually makes more money from that happening.

On paper demonetizing crappy channels doesn't sound like the worst thing in the world, but their track record is very poor with this kind of thing, and again they have a real incentive to make it create false positives (or at least not to prevent them) to increase their cut.

I don't know enough to be able to extrapolate anything from it, but sounds like there's a lot to unpack for those like you who can.

YouTube still puts ads in demonetized videos, right?

My friend was just telling me about this recently. I've somehow completely avoided them so far.

I'm from Washington and I'm surprised we're not higher. In the winter it's dark during both morning and evening rush hour, meaning most people are doing their commutes in the dark. It can feel pretty dangerous sometimes.

How do you get third party protection? I've no desire to switch either but I don't want to go without malware protection.

Guild wars 1. I don't play it often but every once in a while I get the itch. It's honestly still really compelling.

Understandable. Have a nice day!

Ai companies: ai will only get better!

SEO companies: hold my beer

I've heard this before and I honestly find it so irritating to read that I avoid wikis that do it. I'm not saying that's rational, but it's a real thing.

If you're going to enforce a tense, make it present (but honestly don't enforce a tense, it's very awkward to read).

Simple to say, not so simple to do. I'd love to honestly.
