You need to get back into that tradition!

I refuse to give in to the negativity and extremism of Lemmy. I choose to fill my life with love, laughter, friends, and understanding.

This has nothing to do with me. I see plenty of call for violence on Lemmly too.

Yes, and one reason Lemmy's growth is stunted is due to its extremism. I'm noticing an increasing number of people leaving the platform because of it.

Only way I can see to fight this, is that we gotta remain committed to promoting positivity and hope that more neutral individuals will join us.

The issue lies in the fact that people are not flocking here simply because they dislike Reddit; it's because they've been banned from Reddit for being too extreme.

It's laughable to me that so many here claim that Reddit is a "conservative platform." Reddit is far from conservative. It's one of the most liberal social platforms out there. I bailed on it because I don't like how much power the mods have to ban you from entire platform there. So Lemmy definitely wins in that regard.

Exactly. No rational person is going to be pushed into being a republican because someone told them that implying someone is gay is an insult anymore.

If pointing that out is all it takes to make them want to be a republican, then they are already a republican. lol

I suspect that people who throw around gay jokes as hard as you are doing right now, just may think that being gay IS an insult, but ya'll know that on Lemmy it wouldn't be taken well.

It's the same level as the R-word. People don't take that well these days, and with good reason.

Or ya know, you can just try not to insult people, even if you don't like them. You can just say you don't like them because you don't agree what they stand for. That way you are clear, and the only one who can reasonably be offended is the person you are making the remark about. It's not high school anymore.

Society grows and words and phrases change meaning over time. What was a funny insult when you were in high school, isn't funny anymore. I sincerely hope that you can be wiser with your words and intent in the future. You're not making a good case for yourself with these replies.

Where does it end? Allowing anyone with a claim to offense at any derogatory language that is not directed at them?

Well, let me use the very favorite expression of Lemmy. "If ya let nazis into a bar..."

Yep, my thoughts exactly. Here on Lemmy, people talk about inclusion, yet they still throw around gay slurs as an insult. Being gay isn't an insult. At all. For anyone.

Thank you for saying it much better than I did!

I'm not a conservative in any way, shape, or form. Never have been. But you stay as mad as you can possibly be. Because you have zero effect on my real world decisions. lmao
