There are a few more hoops to jump through, but ham radio is alive and well.

Well where I am in the states, it's very difficult to hear people talking on shortwave. It's all just church stations now. It used to be alive with people talking, now I hear church services. That's it.

If you drink milk, and yeah, a multivitamin, you're good to go. Pretty much covers all your body needs. I've been doing it for almost 2 years. No issues, and my bloods came out fine at my health checkup.

In the 18th and early 19th centuries, (before the Great Famine) lots rural Irish families lived for decades on a diet that was overwhelmingly potatoes + buttermilk/milk. They often ate 5–8+ pounds of potatoes per day. This diet was credited with keeping them relatively healthy and producing tall, strong men (many Irish were prized as soldiers/recruits partly because of it).

I've read about other people doing this in the past. There was a study by a guy back in 1912, Dr. Mikkel Hindhede who wanted to prove that a very simple diet could keep a person perfectly healthy.

One of his laboratory assistants, Frederik Madsen, volunteered for the experiment. For an entire year, Madsen ate nothing but potatoes and milk (sometimes described as potatoes + buttermilk or potatoes + a little fat). He stayed totally healthy the whole time, with no deficiencies, full energy, and perfect physical condition.

Also, I have personal knowledge of this style of eating. Because I do almost same thing. Six days a week, I only eat potatoes and milk. On saturdays I eat beans, rice, and corn tortillas. (I was inspired by the Hindhede study, by the way)

I've done it for almost 2 years and no issues at all. I did it mostly for savings, since I wanted to cut my budget really low, so I could hurry up and pay off my house (which I had already been working on paying off by working overtime and side jobs.)

It worked. I paid off my house last year. Now no mortgage at all. :)

And I work out every day, and last medical check up showed that I'm ideal weight, ideal health, no issues at all.

After reading how many Lemmy posters are overweight, um, I think a lot of people should try the potatoes only thing. It sucks for first 2 weeks, but then your body adjusts tho.

Cool. Weekend is here tho, so I'm going camping w my gf and kids, and going to an awesome state park. Then on Sunday, my neighborhood is having a block party bbq, and pool party at a few houses.

So good luck with whatever it is you do on the weekends. I won't be thinking of politics or Lemmy at all. :)

So you admitted you were wrong. Good job. Of course, you knew I wasn't a bot. But you thought you would get me mad or something.

Still super funny that you think calling me a bot would insult me, and now you think that saying a bot is smarter than me would hurt my feelings. lmao

How old are you that you think insults from some lonely rando online would actually offend me? When's the last time you even went outside and talked to a real person?! lmao

But hey, stay mad, bro. How's that been working out for ya? lolololol

In over 40 years of existing, I have never encountered a transgender athlete

You haven't been to college lately. Or high school. I've seen plenty.

I wish politicians would have focused on Epstein in the Biden administration, so we wouldn't have to wait all this time. Why hasn't this been dealt with before, since he was a problem for last 20 years?

When is the govt going to finally admit that epstein worked for the govt as a spy, and both parties knew about it and looked the other way? so yeah, I'm with you, I wish the Epstein stuff would come out too. And I wish people in both parties wouldn't have covered up for 20 years.

Except that you are missing the point. Most people in the real world aren't taking it as seriously as you and the rest of Lemmy. We don't care. Your revolution won't happen. Just accept it. My life doesn't revolve around being mad and political like yours does. Go outside, dude.

Why is me pointing out that young people reading the news as reply to your comment, suddenly some sort of proof that I was holding you up to strict literal scrutiny?

Why are you reading so much into my comment?

It's a forum, on a social site. You replied. I replied. That's it. It's not really any deeper than that. lol

I don't know know what a wall poster is.

The negativity on Lemmy is not the real world. Not even close.

In fact, that's why you are all are pissed. You are pissed that most people just don't give a shit and they are not nearly as bothered by everything as you are.

You get more and more angry as you look around and think, "Why are people letting this happen?! How come there isn't a revolution?!"

There will be no revolution. Lemmy has about 1.366 million registered users worldwide (with monthly active users way lower, around 48,000–50,000). That’s less than 0.0004% of the US population of roughly 343 million.

You sit there all mad and filled with rage, while the rest of us keep going to starbucks in our SUVS and Teslas, picking our kids up from school, using Windows on our laptops, going to yoga class, chilling at the park, and happily ignoring online drama and ragebait news.

I'm having a great time and life is fun. You should try it!

I refuse to give in to the negativity. You're free to live how you want to as well. I wish ya well.

So if i was a bot, how would I be responding to your posts? And if I were a bot, then why would you point out that I have no social circle? Because as a bot, there is no such thing as a social circle.

Nah, you know I'm not a bot. You just thought that'd be a fun insult because I made you touchy and you're upset that some people on Lemmy actually have social circles and friends.

Hey, next why don't you use "bootlicker" which is Lemmy's 4th fav insult. Go on, do it!!! lol

Stay mad, bro. It's really been helping your life, right? lol

“That’s not true and doesn’t align with my personal experiences!”

But isn't that the origin of almost every comment on Lemmy? It's based on someone's personal experience or opinion.

Not just old people watch local news. Every gym in my area has local news on the tv.

Just because most of Lemmy is afraid to leave their house or look people in the eye, doesn't mean all young people are like that. Lots of young people like to know what's going on their area. Most def get it from their phones, but I see plenty of people looking up at the tv while they are on the treadmill or stairmaster.

I'm at the gym every day, so I see it every day.

From the comments I have seen on here lately, I'm beginning to think that a very large part of US Lemmy posters are angry incels that never leave their apartments. (Not saying you are that way, but your comment made me think about it.)
