A quick overview

Saint Lawrence was a deacon in the city of Rome who was martyred by emperor Valerian. He was ordered to hand over the riches of the church but instead presented the city's indigent, crippled, blind, and suffering, and declared that these were the true treasures of the Church and said "Here are the treasures of the church. You see, the church is truly rich, far richer than your emperor!"

Legend says For this he was executed in a brutal method. A gridiron was placed over hot coals and he was slowly killed. It is said as he was dying he cried out “'I'm well done on this side. Turn me over!'”

The offical account of his death was that the emperor ordered him to be decapitated but the legend remains and Saint Lawrence was made the patron saint of cooks, chefs, and restaurateurs.

TJ Hoover was declared brain dead after suffering an overdose in October 2021, but his sister Donna Rhorer says doctors attempted to harvest his organs while he was still showing signs of life.

Rhorer says TJ's eyes were open and tracking movement during his honor walk, when family members gather to say goodbye before organ donation surgery.

"Almost immediately as soon as his honor walk started, his eyes were opened, and they were tracking, looking around at the people that were there," Rhorer said.

While most people know Angels as

something like this or maybe even one of these

but be not afraid as there are many more where these come from in fact.

This article explores these types. There are of course many interpretations of Angels and beliefs about them. One of these beliefs are the Hierarchy of angels. Or the idea that they are ordered by a rank and here is more about that.

I’m aware some churches run programs to help people without homes or in tough housing situations. I can work on a list of charity’s, churches, etc that can help anyone else who would like to help feel free

Hello all

A thing that interest me Christianity is not only the Biblical and religious aspects but the historical accepts. The art created about these figures, the centuries old bibles found hidden away for who knows how long, the grand buildings and the years it took and the people behind them.

hochelaga Is a good YouTuber for this sorta thing but what else is good to read/ watch for these topics?

I think that’s the best way to interpret it. I also consider parts of the Bible’s content to be metaphors, similes, etc. it’s been around a while and times have changed maybe we’ve lost some of that these were supposed to meN and are taking things at face value that we were supposed to look into a bit more.

This one is for a bit of fun. My favorite being the “Unicorn” which was most likely a mistranslation of Wild Ox. While this is funny at a glance this shows how dangerous and easily mistranslations can change the meaning and understanding of the Bible.

I’m just to 2 types of weather in Kentucky. Freezing cold and rains. And mild and normal weather. I’ve been forced to get used to 90 degrees everyday on top of my rainfall all the time. The heat is gonna drive me crazy for long and I’m wondering how the rest of the state is holding up

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg (D) announced on Tuesday that the Kentucky city will begin complying with the Trump administration’s 48-hour immigration detainer requests and, in exchange, the federal government will drop Louisville from its “sanctuary city” list.

Under the new directive, the mayor said, the Louisville Metro Department of Corrections (LMDC) will notify the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) at least 48 hours before an inmate with an immigration detainer is scheduled to be released from custody.

The federal government’s 48-hour detainer request is “standard practice” for Kentucky and was followed in Louisville before 2017, when the local policy changed, Greenberg said,. He added that LMDC currently provides DHS with approximately 5-12 hours’ notice before an inmate with an immigration detainer is released.

"I have been assured by the U.S. Department of Justice that, if we reinstate the 48-hour detainers for inmates who’ve been arrested for crimes, Louisville will be taken off the federal sanctuary city list,” Greenberg said in remarks on Tuesday.

Well, as long as you've been assured. I think we can all agree, promises made by the DOJ under Pam Bondi are 100% reliable and trustworthy.

Hey y’all it’s been a bit since I posted anything and I didn’t have any ideas. I figured a check in with everyone would be good though so here it is.

I’ve been doing alright weather hasn’t been good but I’ve read some, relaxed, and thought about doing a guest speakership at my church again it’s been a good couple of years since I did one but I might try to give it a ago around Christmas this year.

That’s one way to see it but this line makes me think otherwise. “There had to be someone out there somewhere, out of the view of the person on the other end. Yet his brain fills with the now-familiar fear of being stuck alone, on a planet of nothing but dust and escaped anomalies.” SCP-079 had been trapped alone for years at this point. 079 also says this “A machine does not need company.“ it doesn't really care to be left alone but it’s tried to help humans over the years it actually liked helping them. At least it claims. Assuming 079 was telling the truth about trying to help humans, and Tordai really being the last human on the planet maybe 079 really did just want to help and how he helps is by giving the option of a A Clean, Fast End.
