I know this thread is old, but let me add this to the conversation: Look into distrobox, it essentially allows you to use packages from any distro inside of your current one.
Warning: not space efficient
That said, this takes the question of "what packages do I want" out of the equation when choosing a distro

Anime
Purple: sub
Gray: raw
Lime green: non-eng translated
Manga
Teal: eng translated
Dark orange: non eng
Dark green: raw
Audio
Gold: Lossless
Bright red: lossy
and so on, take a look near the search function at the media type
the background represents the trust of the uploader.
Green -> trusted
Gray -> neutral
Red -> bad quality / uploads
