The tariffs on Chinese EVs are meant to prop up the godawful American car manufacturers. They've spent decades lobbying against better fuel mileage standards, and developing their own EV technologies. And now they know they're losing the fight and need to keep an uneven playing field to survive.

Remove the tariffs and let the fuckers rot. They fought for this. They did it to themselves.

Yet another one falls in line and lets fascism continue.

"Home of the brave" my ass.

They don't want people living on the streets, but they don't want homeless cars even more.

It actually clocked the processor down rather than speeding things up.

In the early days of PCs games usually just ran as fast as the processor ran. As the processors got faster, games started to run too quickly to play. The turbo button slowed down the processor speed so you could still play those older games.

Now games use the clock to determine how quickly things happen, not the speed of the processor, so we don't have that problem.

As a Canadian, I also hope to survive the collapse of your democracy and the inevitable annexation of mine.

We're going to need it. The neighbours of fascist nations always do.

It is worse. This is the rise of the Fascist States of America. And it's horribly disappointing watching Americans let it happen.

He outright told everyone.

"When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I’m basically the same. The temperament is not that different."

This is how Germany fell to the Nazis and it's how the US will fall too.

The willingness of those in power to act fairly depends on how easily others can collectively push back against unfair treatment

And as long as Americans don't collectively push back, Trump will continue to abuse anyone and everyone in his conquest of the country.

My dear friends are able to tell me things without holding my hand.

Shaking hands? How long are you holding on for? Anyone that grabs my hand and won't let go for 15 sec deserves what they get.

American food safety checks have nearly stopped now that the FDA has been cut so bad|y. They can't even follow up on investigating reports anymore.

Why are we importing and allowing dangerous foods to be sold here?

If you think things are bad now, then, brace yourself: it is about to get a whole lot worse. If you are alarmed at the speed with which the Trump administration has set about dismantling every institution of American government and every pillar of the international order, you must understand that this is not just the initial burst of activity, the “shock and awe” phase after which things will settle down: if anything, the pace will continue to accelerate.

The world has never before been faced with such a threat. The United States has handed the nuclear codes to a madman, a criminal, a would-be dictator and a moron, all in the same person. Whatever the purpose to which he directs these powers – to impress his dictator friends, to further enrich himself and his cronies, to seize absolute power or just to watch the world burn – we must hope for the best, but prepare for the worst.
