This post deserves more attention. It's disappointing how short people's memory is and how few can see the bigger picture. It didn't start with Trump and it's not going to end with him. I like to think of this administration like a comic relief that's not very funny.

Why does one replace the other? Ever since 9/11 I've noticed a real push to discredit conspiracy theories to the point where the term now invokes images of lunatics with tin foil hats and insane ideas like lizard people and whatnot. It's been really effective too. Like, there's things out there that sound bat shit crazy until it turns out they were true - like operation Northwoods for example - but nobody seems to care because they are verified decades later.

Sure, there's visible people out there that can be blamed, but why is it so outlandish that there may be more who know how to hide from public scrutiny?

I've always wondered for example, what ever happened to the vast wealth of all these families that feature in every conspiracy theory like the Rothschilds, the Rockefellers etc? Are we to believe that they just faded away from public affairs, are no longer important and that the richest men in the world are the newbies, Bezos Elon etc? I've not looked into it or anything (Eddie Bravo style) but somehow I don't buy it, I bet they're still behind major things that are happening today. If anyone has an explanation I'd love to hear it btw. Would love nothing better than a good debunking.

So aren't current ICE thugs already from that lot?

I hate Daniella Weiss but I love Larry David, does that make me an antisemite? You're the disgusting one, learn to differentiate. You ate nazi propaganda with a spoon in the 30s and you're eating the same from the zionists now. Time to get your shit together. What does Jesus say about starving children, Christian? Why are you condoning genocide, Christian?

Wait till you hear how much pollution the army creates when they decide to mobilize an entire camp for no reason

Appreciate you taking the time to break it down! I see where you're coming from and I'm sure all these 3 groups exist, but I see it quite differently. I'd say the first two groups are very niche compared to the 3rd, to the point where they don't matter much.

Way I see it, the average maga voter is a much simpler beast. As an outsider, I view Americans - especially people outside of the two big cities which act as cultural centers - as a happy go lucky bunch in their core. There's these generations after the first settlers who found it easy compared to the rest of the world to make money and live prosperously. That makes them very open and positive to the point where they seem gullible sometimes. These people have been seeing their quality of life deteriorate as capitalism inadvertently pushes wealth to the rich and they feel deeply betrayed by the previous administrations of career politicians. They want things to go back to better times and their lack of education points them in the wrong direction. They are not inherently racist but they are afraid of the future. Fear makes them huddle close to the familiar. It's super easy to blame the foreign for one's problems and that's what we see here too. That's why you'll see the pattern where they're hostile towards foreigners but at the same time if they know you personally you get a pass. Juan is a good Mexican, it's those others that are up to no good. They view Don as a successful businessman - probably because of too much Fox as you said - and they also recognize that he is different in the way that he speaks and acts. He's raw and simple, doesn't hide what he ultimately wants, it's a stark difference from normal politicians. From there, it all goes downhill with the injection of racism and national pride. Ultimately, from Nixon onwards to say the least, all administrations have consistently contributed to the slow decay of the American middle class and people want actual change. Obama failed them miserably because he looked and acted different but his policies were not. So now it's time for the unhinged ultra right to have a go. If this doesn't lead to the end of the world somehow, we might see a swing of the pendulum. Doubtful without a big investment in basic education but one can only hope.

I was thinking of the common rust belt dweller when I wrote that. How else would you describe the vast majority of magas who shot themselves in the foot twice by voting orange? He is actively taking whatever they have left and handing it out to the 1%. I hear what you're saying about reforgers etc - I'm sure all kinds of evil/crazy/weird exists - but I cannot believe that the basic maga voter is anything other than uneducated and misinformed.

People have tried to make sense of the don phenomenon saying he's good at selling these ideas etc but I don't believe it. For me his success is down to two things:

  1. People have been fooled by the establishment politicians one too many times and they will vote for change no matter what that is.
  2. Racism is embedded in our genes or something from the time we were monkeys. It doesn't take much to invoke its power, unlike other survival strategies like socialist ideas which require a level of sophistication most people sadly lack. The fact that a political cult has been created around an incompetent personality is because at the core of it lies this instinct. It's why you see people not reacting logically to the crazy stuff that's happening.

That goes without saying. But to be clear, we don't know the dick pick timing. Also I think that regardless of the vulgarity and the obvious stupidity of sending your meat to a person who didn't ask for it, there is something positive to be found in any expression of desire towards oneself no matter how crude and idiotic.

The only difference between Republicans and Democrats is that the former based their entire election campaign on releasing the files. In terms of corruption they are one and the same. Funny thing is, such monumental fuckups don't even affect them because their voters are so smooth brained.
