Pretty much this. I wouldn’t love the idea of Flus staying but I don’t think it truly jeopardises the search for an OC. Either some one wants to work with Fields, DJ Moore and probably a fairly decent supporting cast or they don’t.

I lean yes, but only if I’m given the ability to see the future and draft a quality WR1 and RT with other picks as well as hiring Slowik.

The trade gave Fields and any future QB taken at least a fighting chance to succeed.

Stroud with Getsy, Mooney and Borom, I mean, really?

  1. Fields
  2. daylight = 3. Braxton Jones, Terell Smith and Tyler Scott

The potential of those 3 players has to be a factor in offseason moves.

A proper evaluation on whether Jones is a quality starting LT is vital for the top 10 draft picks.

Smith’s development has to be a factor in how hard they go to sign JJ. I still hope they try hard to sign him but if JJ is only staying for top 5 CB money it’s easier to let him walk and sign a cheaper veteran if you have confidence in Smith.

Scott can probably only be counted for WR 4 next year no matter how he plays down the stretch. But it might have some impact on Mooney due to their similar traits.

What has Kevin Warren ever done in his career to justify a great football mind?

Poles pulled off a heist of a trade. He’s rebuilt almost every positional group to something that resembles competency with a lot of upside to come given cap space and draft assets.

Unless Poles sacrifices himself to the Flus grenade he should work with Warren to identify a coach.

I’m struggling to see a world in which we get a top 3 pick and don’t leave with a QB or MHJ.

Either Fields isn’t the guy so we replace him.

Or Fields is the guy so we turn down hauls to draft the best WR prospect in years.

I guess there’s a small chance we finish with picks 2 and say 7, and stick with Fields, draft the 2nd or 3rd WR (or Bowers) on the board at 7 and try to repeat last years trade with pick 2.

In which case the aim should be adding another top 10 pick, future first and other draft capital and the best under 26 3 Tech we can find.

Missed opportunity for a DJ Moore punt return there.

Dude need a chance to win this game with a chunk play and it seems unlikely to come on a deep pass

Bagent doesn’t have the deep accuracy/arm strength and DJ doesn’t have the size for deep sideline go balls.

I like the idea of being aggressive but it has to be a throw Bagent can make and a route that takes advantage of DJs best attributes

Why do the McCaskeys indulge in the US military being part of NFL games. I just saw some middle aged deeply uncool band with the horrific name of ‘Downrange’ dressed in full camouflage playing. Like, what’s that for?

Don’t the Bears make enough money without partaking in the US military industrial complex that contributes to bombing the crap out of half the world?

Maybe if/when they build they new stadium they can just focus on being terrible at football.

Perhaps the greatest to ever do it compared to the hot offensive guru of the moment?

Yeah, I’m hiring Belichick. There’s always another hot OC to hire if it doesn’t work out

If he thinks JJ is a 16M per year player with a significant injury history and desire to miss OTAs how high should he go?

20M - ok.

22M and huge guarantees, maybe that’s where the line stops.

If you don’t draw a line every other free agent will request the full bag.

I don’t want to lose JJ but I’m fine with Poles making the decision to either sign him or trade him now rather than waiting until the end of the year. And I’m also fine with Poles having a limit.
