But then you would need another excuse in ~2 decades but having build not enough expensive nuclear power, still struggling to get the ones in production finished and still burning fossil fuels...

And we all know that destroying the planet for profits is the actual goal here.

The exact same people spending huge sums on deying climate change for decades are now paying for "it's all too late and we are doomed anyway, so why try to do anything" and "nuclear power, especially future designs far from actually being production ready, will safe us" messaging.

A not-that-serious test if a film meets the absolutely most basic criteria regarding female roles in the story.

Are there at least two women (in newer versions also: do they have a name)? Do they talk to each other instead of only to men? Do they talk about anything but a man?

"it would signal that the Biden administration is as serious and unwavering in its desire to provoke and wage large-scale war with China"

Sure... because -as we all know- giving countries threatened the tools to defend themselves is the real aggression.

Welcome to the average tankie's upside-down world...

Did we really need studies using math and statistics to understand that

a) if you flood everything with shit, some gets through

b) it's not an accident but an applied system to increase engagement (=clicks=money)

c) tired people are less attentive

has some reason why little Timmy just absolutely must have his TikTok machine on him at all times, just in case his mom needs to text him and can't be bothered to call the school office

And that's a problem why exactly? Why is every comment here pretending that there is either being glued to the screen of your phone or having it locked away, no inbetween?

Schools can somehow enforce completely rediculous clothign regulations but "the phone stays in your bag unless it's an emergency" is somehow impossible because it's some kind of law of nature that you must stare at the screen 24/7.

Nope.

Or to use you analogy: It's like discussing bans of kerosin to fix the fire instead of acknowledging that they are pouring gasoline on it.

There are good reasons to discuss limiting AI. But this discussion is somewhere between stupidity and diversion. It will not change the fact that a lot of todays (especially social) media is running on narratives, bullshit and desinformation. That's not new and AI will barely be able to make it even worse.

This none-topic is however very useful in ignoring the underlying issue (lack of media competence and education) and diverting from the actual risks of AI (surveilance).

Also ziemlich genau dem, was Experten als Armutsgrenze definieren.

This is just another attempt to divert from the actual issue.

No, it's not AI. It's desinformation that is the problem. People who believed and parroted badly spelled bullshit lies from some troll farm will keep doing so. They will not suddenly fall for AI generated propaganda because AI evolved to be that indistinguishable. They already fell for everything long before.

Sure... let's discuss the risks of AI and how we need to regulate it instead of finally acknowledging that the problem is a lack of education and media competence in general.

Putin can actually claim whatever he wants and does so regularly. No one actually cares. And no claim or "being allowed to claim something" will actually change reality.
