Depends on the size of the eruption. We have seen anything from local disturbances to European and some intercontinental air traffic being disrupted for more than a week because of giant clouds of ash in the past.
Going by what experts expect this time, it will probaby not have much impact beyond Iceland but unlike in the last few years the location includes populated areas this time so at least some evacuation of people living there is going on.
The ones that care are relistic: Ukraine support against Russia right now makes sense geopolitical. Doesn't mean they won't remember that an ally was willing to conduct an active act of war against their infrastructure for their own stupid narratives - as if it wasn't actually unused already anyway. The fact that it was basically already discarded only means it's not of immidiate importance, but I'm quite sure Ukraine is aiming for more cooperation with Germany and the EU. And you can bet that there are poeple who will take that into account when evaluating how much Ukraine can be trusted.

As I have never actually seen a local power line (and the high voltage ones obviously don't use wood), can I get some feedback which countries actually use overland lines using wood for their local grid?

The Netherlands sold many of theirs to Jordan when they decommisioned them at the same time Germany did. The German ones that were sold back then are sadly sitting in Brazil and Romania, the former one not supporting Ukraine and the latter one still actively operating them for their air defense.

Und da hapert's schon, die meisten haben keine Datenpunkte. Zumindest keine, bei denen sie sich herab lassen würden, uns darüber aufzuklären. Die haben nur eine Geschichte die sie erzählen wollen und das wird dann halt gemacht. Deshalb geht es nicht darum, dass Berichte grundsätzlich narrativen Charakter haben oder dass die Schwerpunkte setzen, sondern darum, dass nur noch das Narrative existiert und über allem steht. Keine Fakten, kein Einordnung, nur die Geschichte, die erzählt werden soll... meist ist das übrigens einfach nur die, die am meisten Klicks bringt; Wahrheitsgehalt nebensächlich. Man kann das schon irgendwie schwammig genug ausdrücken oder framen, dass man rechtlich nicht belangt werden kann. Und wenn doch ein Widerruf her muss, liest den eh keiner. Und wenn man Glück hat oder nur penetrant genug ist, wird das Narrativ dann auch noch von genug Leuten nachgeplappert, dass man nicht nur verschleiern kann, wo es herkam, sondern auch gleich nicht mal mehr seine Lügen belegen muss. Die sind jetzt schließlich plötzlich akzeptiertes Allgemeinwissen.

Ja, aber zu dieser Studie kommt dann nur sehr viel allgemeines Blabla. Die eigentliche Aussage ist da schon erledigt und eben extrem fragwürdig.

Zwar bestelle die Bundeswehr jetzt für über acht Milliarden Euro F-35 Kampfjets aus den USA, habe aber dafür gesorgt, dass die deutsche Industrie beteiligt werde: Ein zentrales Rumpfteil für die Flieger wird in einer neuen Rheinmetall-Fabrik in Weeze hergestellt. Bei den schweren Transporthubschraubern, die man auch in den USA einkauft, habe man auf Wartung und Modernisierung durch deutsche Firmen gedrängt
nur mit dem bereits als richtig gesetzten Fakt, dass alles falsch läuft, negativ. Die deutsche Industrie zu involvieren, die hiesige Wirtschaft zu stärken und hier Fähigkeiten aufzubauen und/oder zu erhalten ist schließlich kein versehentlicher Mangel sondern pure Absicht und richtig so.
Die ganze Argumentation funktioniert nur, wenn man bei "wir wollen keine Eigenständigkeit und sollten möglichst alles nur importieren" anfängt und von da dann Argumente sucht... Eine echte Analyse ist gar nicht gefordert. Hauptsache Reformen, die vor 10 Monaten begonnen wurden, sind schon vor einem Jahr gescheitert!
Vieleicht bin ich auch einfach nur verrückt, aber ich hab diesen Konverter für Sim-Karten... nennt sich Schere und scheitert nur an eSIMs. Die sind eh alle identisch nur mir mehr oder weniger Plastik drumrum.
