I legit still have my books from when I was a kid. Berenstien. My friend also has their books from when they were a kid. Berenstain. We argued about it off and on for like a decade before we finally settled it. We only have one book in common, a halloween one, but other than that we have no idea what happened. They were printed in different years, but why would that matter??? IDK, it is a mystery.

I feel like I covered my bases with the rest of my comment there. If you have thousands of photos that you want to share, host them on your server and whitelist the people you want to see them :/

IRL I've never sent nor received more than a handful of pics at a time, and always through email. It would have never occurred to me that people are out there sending the whole family collection to each other digitally. Grandma hordes those pics for a reason; as leverage for people to visit her!

This guy didn't want to do the leg work of emailing his photos to his friends, and declares self-hosting isn't the solution to a social net? I totally see the point in community hosting, in fact I'm all for that.

But really? You don't have to make your servers public facing, you just white-list the people you want to see your stuff and make sure to organize your drives with public and private pages.

He went through all that and didn't take it far enough.

I can't tell if you're joking, this is something I would say if I were trolling. Just in case you're serious: If they have human authors they are created with EXPLICIT consent. That's how fiction works xD That's like condemning all fiction literature because the people in the stories were forced into horrible situations for the sake of the plot.

The masses don't know how to search for information anymore. Not only that, but they are unable to do so with the disparity of their understanding of the search engines and the current state of search engines. People are used to being fed information through an algorithm, and those who control the algorithm aren't about to promote a competitor that'd take away their money.

Yeah, and Psyche means soul, and is a greek word. If you're going to be pedantic about language then at least be as correct as you can be.

I wouldn't say her soul or animating spirit has been tricked here— that would make no sense. "Sike" is a word now, and it has a very specific and narrow meaning. Just like Psyche now means something totally different that it originally did. Language EVOLVES.

As someone who is doing a massive research project on the Maya peoples right now, that civilization was technologically way ahead of the game! They had toilets with a sewage system, clean aqueducts and water purification measures, and ball sports a thousand years before the colonizers that fucked em up. A THOUSAND YEARS.

You're making a sweeping general statement. Polygamy is just Polyamory taken to vows. There is a problem with a lot of the people that practice polygamy in an unethical way, but not polygamy itself.

This. When I was poly my friends and fam were cool with it, but they're not religious. Every religious person I knew who found out was not too pleased with me.

I had chagas as a kid, and it wreaked havoc on my body. One doc pointed out I probably had some organ scarring. That was over ten years ago. So, as the title, do I need to be on my toes as I get older?
