Same here, quick actions is hit or miss for my series 7. I haven't tried ultra 2 or series 9 though, so can't comment if double tap is more accurate.

In addition to the red ring that other people said in comment section, a cellular watch should say LTE in the caseback. Maybe get a picture of the caseback to confirm as well?

Time to change the passcode to "2222" and continue to use it for another 10 years! Just kidding.

Looks like it had a good run already, time for an upgrade!

I have this issue once in the past and I need to reset sync data to fix it.

Try this: Go to Watch app on iphone > General > Reset > Reset Sync Data.

After press that, it'll seem like nothing happens. But after a few minutes, the names for imessage chats shows up instead of phone numbers.

Give it a try and see if it fixes your issue too.

I always use passcode ever since I have my first Apple Watch (required to enable Apple Pay anyways), so can't answer if sleep tracking will work without passcode setup.

I found from Autosleep website that passcode is required for monitoring heart rate in the background. Maybe you should email the developer to confirm if it's the case.

"4. Do you have a passcode on your Watch? This is required for background heart rate data which is needed for sleep detection. Passcode can be enabled in the Apple Watch app settings under Passcode."

GPS is a receiver that receives your current coordinate. Then the software uses the coordinate to do stuff with it. So using GPS alone does not require internet connection.

You're probably thinking that the maps won't work without cellular (or internet connection). That's because the watch doesn't have all the map data without internet unless you pre-download that section of the map for offline use. The maps app still knows where you are (coordinate-wise) in that case.

Apple does not officially open up watch faces to developers. All the custom "watch faces" you see are one of the following:

  • An app that pretends to be a watch face. You need to keep the app launched to see that "watch face".
  • A number of custom complications that works with existing Apple watch faces (for example Modular watch face), but with more clever or unique design that gives you the illusion that it's a different watch face

According to the Apple website, they will replace battery if the battery health is below 80%.

https://support.apple.com/watch/repair

"Battery service

We can service the battery in your Apple Watch for a fee. Our warranty doesn’t cover batteries that wear down from normal use.

Your product is eligible for battery service at no additional cost if you have AppleCare+ and your product's battery holds less than 80% of its original capacity."

Is your battery health below 80%? I would try calling/chatting with another CS rep and try again if that's the case.
