Because the Android market is in shambles, IMO. Pixel phones are in my mind the only good Android phones, except since the release of the 6 they have been garbage. That naturally coincides with the release of the Tensor chip and the adoption of the trendy underscreen fingerprint reader. 3 iterations of this Pixel generation and they refuse to change out that awful optical fingerprint reader. If they would change that one thing, I could deal with the rest of the bugginess of Tensor phones.
Samsung is out the question. I do not want an inferior Samsung mirror version of every Google app or feature, or that horribly stupid looking UI.
All other Android brands are Chinese companies, so they are a big nope. Motorola could be great if they weren't owned by Lenovo.
