I can't speak for other countries, but at least in México racism is huge (almost everyone will bend over to anyone who is white or light skinned... Or seems to have money) in practically everything, not just against migrants or tourists, also among us, hence the old saying the worst enemy of a mexican is another mexican.

c/Mexico... But seeing how most of the "news" from my country in the fediverse are government propaganda (and people get mad when it gets pointed out), I could stay on r/Mexico and it would be the same.
