But supposed they invented a whole new kind of meat and your grill wasn't ready to deal with it? How would you feel then? Pretty darn silly, that's how!

Because that bench was deliberately designed to discourage people from sitting there. To make people miserable. So which political party LOVES to be pointlessly cruel?

The only national passenger train service I know of is Amtrak, which shares its tracks with freight carriers. So the current infrastructure isn't designed for high-speed rail and freight carriers usually get priority.

Also, The US is really big, so everything isn't a short train ride away from everything else. If I wanted to visit the Grand Canyon from where I live, it's over 2,000 miles away. That's 30 hours of driving just by car.

I think the new owners will fark NexusMods to death and you should start looking for a backup site to host your mods.

Congress has been shirking their responsibility to declare wars since the Gulf of Tonkin incident in 1964. They gave Presidents the power to carry out military actions abroad without a formal declaration. By passing the responsibility on to the president, Congress gets to avoid the blame for unpopular wars.

Even the Vietnam "War" which lasted 10 years, was never declared by Congress.

ICE doesn't have enough people to intimidate a single blue city, let alone the country. They can't even operate in Los Angeles without the backup of a small number of National Guard and Marines and they're doing that illegal action over the governor's explicit objections.

ICE are a bunch of cowards, doing safe, comfortable hits in suburbs and on people who are complying with the law. (Immigration hearings and workplaces.)

If you live in a society where masked gunmen, who are answerable to NO ONE can black-bag and kidnap you off the street, then it's time for folks to have an honest talk with themselves about what kind of society they really live in.

Trump already left G7 to supposedly "focus on the escalating Israeli-Iran conflict."

That's not the reason why he left. He's leaving early because he tried to hijack the G7 conference with his usual, personal grievance bullshit and to make the entire conference all about HIM, like he always does. But they weren't having it and they told him to go home and get his f*cking shine box. So now, he's leaving in a huff because they hurt his childish, rodentine feelings.

No badges, no uniforms, driving unmarked cars and wearing masks? I think any person could successfully argue in court that they thought they were being kidnapped by criminals.

During the Vietnam War there was a draft, so you could end up being conscripted and shipped halfway around the world to fight it. One way to avoid getting drafted was a lottery where, if you picked a high enough random number, you could avoid being drafted.

The thing is, Trump never picked a lottery number. Instead, he got five draft deferments, 1 medical and 4 educational. A lot of rich people at the time were able to avoid military service alltogether by getting a doctor to sign off that you had a sketchy illness. In Trump's case, it was bone spurs, which apparently healed right up after the Vietnam War ended. Trump kept his 1-Y deferments until after 1972, when he was reclassified 4-F (permanently ineligible for service). By claiming he got a "high lottery number" Trump makes it sound like staying out of Vietnam was an amazing stroke of luck. That was just another lie. Trump had powerful friends and family intervene for him. Luck had nothing to do with it.
