Will anything cause a revolution?

From an outside-the-US perspective, it feels as though every incremental assault the USA’s constitution is met with a bit of tut-tutting and complaining about why elected members don’t fix things, then back to apathy 48 hours later.

Vasanti Cosmetics - Canadian owned and made. Really great quality, cruelty-free, and reasonable prices. They match a huge range of skin colours!

That’s great to know - we don’t have London Drugs in Ontario (that I’ve seen anyway) but from the sounds of it they seem to sell everything!

We have Shoppers which has very very few Canadian products and Rexall which seems to carry a bit more. So usually I’m sending patients to the internet

Sharing the boutique link to Oral Science, a Quebec-based company selling a number of dental brands.

I’ve noticed drug stores sell very few options for dental products - generally 50 redundant variations of the same 3 toothpastes. I’m a dental professional and recommend many of these products in my practice - I he company now has a boutique open to the public to make these items easier to access!

One Canadian option is Cari0 toothpaste, which was developed by a Montreal dental researcher - this one is fluoride free.

They also sell Curaprox toothpaste (a Swiss company) which does contain fluoride and is minimally abrasive.

Other star products are the Curaprox interdental brushes (lots of sizes for any size of space between your teeth that traps food) and Xylimelts (a saliva-stimulating lozenge for those with dry mouth)

That’s so true - empty sections of cranberry sauce, tomato paste, pasta, etc adjacent to fully stocked American items are such a telltale sign lately.

You can’t wait for the media, because the media is largely owned by the far right.

They make highly inflammatory right leaning news programs, and highly complacent left leaning news programs. It keeps the right active and angry, and tells the left to sit down and fret quietly while waiting for due process to solve problems.

They’re pretty great and they last forever. And their slippers are super comfy too

Sharing these yummy Made With Local bars.

I’m not often a fan of protein bars and snack bars, because they frequently have weird aftertastes and textures. These taste exactly like the real food ingredients they are made with. You get the texture of oats and coconut, fragrance from cinnamon, real dried blueberries.

The grocery near me very strangely sells individual bars more cheaply ($3.29) than the per unit cost on their 12 pack ($44.99). However, their website has bulk deals that look to be worthwhile if you enjoy their products, plus a taster pack to sample things you may not be finding in stores

Highly recommend!

Stetson is a very elegant looking gentleman! Glad he loves his new bed!

If I compare trying to buy as much Canadian product as possible, it was far easier today than a month ago. La Cocina tortillas sit on the top shelf of the tortilla area, Covered Bridge and Hawkins rest in the high traffic chip aisle among the big companies. This store now carries 6 flavours of Sprague soup instead of one.

Some products were always there, but it was a lot less digging today!

Our family recently switched our soda addiction to Cove Soda. They are delicious - I enjoyed the cola/root beer/cream soda pack, but this red fruits pack really takes the cake. I don’t know where raspberry soda has been all my life. They are all zero sugar, which is nice to reduce risk of dental decay too.

My kids and I prefer them to the US brands we had been drinking previously!

Sharing this delicious jam from family-run Moss Berry Farm in Stratford, Ontario.

Fruit is grown by their farm and other nearby farms, and all products are made in Canada. Picked up these two excellent jams today, but the chutneys (mango, apple tamarind) are also worth your time!
