Sailing is so much better than managing when to stop and continue payment for the dozens of streaming services.

I wish there would be more Edgerunners type releases where it's a companion piece rather than a direct adaptation which allows for way more creative freedom and less burden of being compared.

I enjoyed memes back in the forum days because they weren't frequent with it being more discussion base, so when they showed up it'd have a tendency to actually be funny. But, move towards generating meme content quickly diluted the experience of memes with forcing of memes.

I never tried anything other than old.reddit.com. And I'll never try the dreadful reddit app. Redesign has always been trash and terrible at loading content and pushes trash topics at users.

With the state of games at launch how many are there that you'd want the unpatched version.

Also there is Jedi Survivor

Same I know him from The Boys and never thought of him as the nepo baby, but now I'll always be reminded of that. Didn't know he was Meg Ryan's kid either.

I would be grateful to be in a position to be called a nepo baby. That means my life is pretty good and I wouldn't want to struggle unnecessarily if I don't have to.

Depends on the industry. Degree based ones like medicine or accounting and or trades are easier to get into the industry to make a comfortable living for the average perdon. Now upper tier is another matter, and that does heavily benefit from relationships if going for like high management level positions.

But, the art and performance based ones like movies and music is one where relationship definitely is heavily shifted to being important, and talent and work ethic guarantees nothing. And financial security is very unstable and hard to attain for the average person to grind it out, so every advantage matters to even be considered for a job that could end up being stable.

So nepotism doesn't discount their talent or hard work, but there's no need downplay the role it played to even get a shot.

If I were him only thing worse than being called a nepo baby would be my mom coming out publicly to tell people not to call me a nepo baby. That's like further drawing anything to the issue and as embarrassing as a student would be of their parents loudly telling everyone in school to not be bullies.

Haha yeah it actually shows what a huge initial advantage it even is to be able to get a chance to act in the industry, and highlights how they could have not been in the industry without nepotism. There's a lot of talented people but only so many people the industry is willing to give a look, so relationships really matter if you don't want to rely on lottery type luck. Industry doesn't have a shortage of people.

Yep, with move towards disc's becoming glorified license checks that allow you to download the game it's piracy that will end up actually preserving anything.

I will miss it.

Like what there is for dolphin, but should be more straightforward with everyone having the same specs.

This is how live action anime adaptations should be done.

Firefox has a link that goes to their sister kbin community, but you don't see it until you click chat with us. So I don't think lot of people knew /r/firefox has gotten set up on the fediverse.

Default active showed too many old posts in the feed that never disappeared.

Hot was a little better, but still put too much weight on upvotes and comments leading to several day old posts showing up consistently despite all the communities I had subscribed to.

So what I've settled on for now has been new and top day, which has now been showing more new content instead of posts being buried.

SSD drives have been getting cheaper, so been looking into it.

Something I found is that while you can see activity of local communities in your instance like for example a lemmy.world user on lemmy.world. If they go somewhere else like lemmy.world/c/privacyguides@lemmy.one that's pretty much all you'll be aware of aside from what someone from lemmy.world pull so it shows up on /c/all

You have to tab open and see lemmy.one to get the picture of the instance as a whole to see what is the activity local to it.

This makes it harder to find new communities and also for new communities to grow. And doesn't help that when you view a community for the first time after someone subscribed for the first time it doesn't pull all the comments, so it looks like there's no activity.

So it would be nice if there was a quick toggle to do a view from your instance and then a view from the instance the content actually originated on.

Wanted to also mention fedia.io/m/firefox is the sister Kbin community to /r/firefox

Any Android apps that are recommended? And are there instance types for making Matrix too, and if so any that are recommended?

Even if it doesn't automatically resubscribe you I'm guessing lot of people as they use lemmy or kbin will be moving around from instances a lot.

So being able to keep track of which communities to resubscribe to would be really convenient to have.

I've liked Cyberpunk 2077 and Assassination Classroom. Cool with any genre you guys have to recommend, since I enjoyed stuff like Zombieland Saga too.

And if there is a migration tool from onenote to the alternative that would be even better.
