because the official app is ad-infested bloatware without decent modtools that gobbles my data bucket and keeps trying to show me popular / all instead of just my subscriptions

and because reddit cancelled all my coins and then brought out a new microtransaction currency within the year

and because spez is a shill for the US President and his reactionary right-wing entourage

No ads, working third-party mobile apps, better community, better discussion, fewer farmers and bots and less spam, and people generally post a text synopsis when linking to a video

I'm old enough that I also was exposed to Y-down, and that's still my default.

It mentions Mastodon, but presumably there will be a "flavor" that is more thread-like and connects well to lemmy/piefed/*bin?

The multigrain loaf from my local bakery. I get it unsliced so I can cut it extra thick, over half an inch. Throw it in the toaster on 2, switch it to bagel setting halfway through.

Centrella chunky peanutbutter, nice thick spread on the more-toasted side of the bread. You gotta do it right out of the toaster so it gets properly melty.

Raspberry jam in a thin layer on the other piece of bread. Thin! It's not a jelly sandwich; this is a condiment.

Sprinkle coarse sea salt on the peanut butter and combine the halves. Eat while still warm.

Nah, I have that that behavior and crazy high self-esteem. I'm genuinely convinced I can be the most competent person in any situation and I'm usually right.

I'd say "the sky" but either way.

That's only the case if they all move to the same instance.

On the contrary, it's showing the strength of federation: when an insurance can't go on, the communities and users are able to migrate to other instances and keep enjoying the fediverse.

I commented once on a different, unrelated community on an unrelated topic (and, notably, to argue against a toxic viewpoint I saw there) and was banned from a muni I enjoy for participating in their list of blacklisted communities.

This was on reddit, but still. It rankles.
