I mean, that's a whole different topic. Documents and info material everyone should have access to need to be inclusive so even your average Fox News viewer can read it.

After reading this my brain just squeezed itself out of my skull and began to organize a protest for more workplace-related health hazard protection.

The project will either die through lack of interest or over-availability of cringe. There's no way for it to succeed with this MAGA nonsense and threats plastered all over it, they'd have a hard time finding enough devs even without alienating everyone except Fox News viewers. Meanwhile they'll feel confirmed in their worldview due to all the rightful criticism flooding in.

If the project survives this initial phase of antipathy we'll probably get years of cringe from it.

Found more context, for who is now curious:

  • Apparently threatening violence with guns is okay (just got marked as "off-topic").
  • The maintainer of X11Libre, Enrico Weigelt, is an anti-vaxer who already got scolded by Torvalds for writing bullshit on the kernel mailing list

The more I read into X11Libre, the more I'm laughing. Now the freedesktop ban also makes perfect sense.

There are about 675 million pigs worldwide.

Then your imagination is evidently limited.

just fuckin walk around a room while lifting something heavy in various ways until you feel tired

To feel tired you need your body to exhaust itself, which makes you feel like shit. To exaggerate my point a little bit here for better understanding: It's the very act of movement that causes it. It doesn't matter how you do it, the body immediately tells you it's shit once it has to ramp up everything to deal with the strain and will keep doing so making sure you only do things as much as necessary (like to catch a bus, ride a bicycle to your important destination etc).

Like I said before, the only way this makes any sense to me is that your brains, for some reason, react to this willful suffering with blasting out dopamin and stuff. Otherwise it doesn't make any sense to me why and how so many people deal seem to hurt themselves without going nuts.

The body is clearly stressed by exercise, I hope we can agree on that as smallest common denominator?

I've read the fastest as Pepsi Co.

Ah yes, I love when people do that. Especially since it perfectly circumvents word-based personal filters.

And Fredrik Knudsen.

I don't get it, in my experience it sucks no matter how short or long you do it. Like, if I put my arm into a 100°C oven for longer and longer it doesn't suddenly start feeling good, it's the same uncomfortable-to-stressful experience every time (and at some point it causes physical damage). Obviously with exercise your body can build up muscles to make the experience less awful, but it doesn't prevent it from being a purely stressful one, both mentally and physically (and at some point all the constant stress causes mental damage). Even after weeks there's no difference, except that I was so stressed I lashed out against everything and everyone.

I do not understand (on a subjectice level) how this can be any different for others. I've read about dopamine being supposed to be released, and it truly has to be copious amounts to block all the stress signals and somehow turn it into something positive. Basically the only sane explanations there is to me why people would do this to themselves are either external necessities or the desire to get high on built-in drugs which only works for some people (who then believe it's that way for everyone).

Youtube/Google is known to bully and lash out against Firefox users first, they use that as a hybrid strategy to make people use Google Chrome more (other market, same corposcum). Not surprised.

Naah. For me both Newpipe on mobile and Freetube on desktop still work fine, aside from rare IP blocks (which can be easily circumvented with a VPN). Going to set up a JellyFin with auto-download for my favourite creators in the future. It'll work out somehow, like always. Should they go full ham and lock all creators behind some subscription wall or whatever people will just code and set up relays and torrents automatically being fed with new videos to free them, or setting up hundreds of Peertube instances that get auto-filled or sth.

These big companies can't win in this regard, especially not now when the tide is already shifting and even the mainstream increasingly starts hating them. The moment large creators see a viable alternative that isn't as awful (some already post their uncut videos to other platforms only due to all the word censoring etc) they're screwed, so locking it down and enshittificating it even further is increasingly dangerous for them by now.
