This exists, but it's generally only used in spacecraft.

Most terrestrial uses of RITEGs have resulted in tragedy.

I started to realize that the thing I liked about Reddit were the analytical and thoughtful people like me on the platform. When I came here, I found that many came over. When I visit Reddit, either because I'm nostalgic or because I have a specific need for something there, I'm finding more and more recent posts that are mostly filled with trash. Sure, some of the insightful, thoughtful and analytical people are still hanging around, but the vast majority has shifted away from that type of person. Reddit has also become so mainstream that is a stone's throw away from xitter or Facebook in terms of quality. Everyone and their mother is starting a Reddit account.

I miss when old.reddit.com was just reddit.com.

Violence is not the answer.

Violence is more of a question.

The system is working as intended. The rich are getting richer.

I repeat, the system is working as intended.

Lots of room for ammunition too.

Technically it is.

I'm not saying that should negate any coverage that you are otherwise entitled to.... Just that living is the root cause of many issues.

September 3rd, 2024 in the show.

I'm still fully convinced a similar event will happen, it's only a matter of time.

I'm fine. I live in Canada, and I'm not a fascist, Nazi, (colour) supremacist, or anything.

I just lean to the left and appreciate public/social services; which is slightly "communist" but not "authoritarian Nazi" Communist. No no, you should be free to live how you want, work in whatever field you want, eat the food you like, love who you wanna love, and live how and where you want to live. I'm just in favor of things like, not bankrupting someone because they got pneumonia and had to go to the hospital for a day; also fire departments, schools, employment insurance (social/government), streets and roads, parks, sidewalks, community centers.... You know, stuff that everyone owns, but nobody "owns"? Stuff we all can use without having to pay for it.

I'm also in favor of UBI, but I realize that UBI may not happen anytime soon, maybe not in my lifetime. I hope it happens eventually (or at do away with fiat currency), for the good of the people, but I recognize the fight is difficult to win.

Are people finally waking up to the horrors of late stage capitalism?

Good good. Let me know when the bell riots start.

If I had a friend like this, unless they were useful or more interesting than average people, I'd stop inviting them out.

I'll just let that friendship die, that's fine.

This is worse than what my friends and I usually do. We either do completely separate bills, or we trade back and forth who is paying. Nobody quibbles about how much, or how much more this time might be compared to last time. You pay the bill, and next time, your bill gets paid for you.

I take note whenever I'm paying more than once in a row, and if it becomes a trend that I'm paying for everything, I stop inviting people out. I'm not going to invite you out somewhere just to have me pay for it 100% of the time. If I wanted to pay for someone to keep me company, I'd hire a hooker.

That's a trait of mine, to look at situations from different perspectives, not just mine, or what "I would do" or what I want to see happen.

I'm a long time observer of people, and the most fascinating thing to try to understand is why. It's impossible to know someone's true motivations for doing something but most of the time you can reach a pretty good guess if you have enough of a picture of what's going on with them.

I don't mind downvotes. I don't hate what Luigi did, and I appreciate that he probably didn't feel like he had another course of action, at the same time, I try to understand and be sympathetic regarding anyone else Luigi may have come into contact with.

We're all living a life, everyone's life is a complex, interconnected mess of happenstance.
