Just wondering that he has time for such things.
I mean, it is one thing that I commit the occasional work time fraud during my low-level office job to post irrelevant private stuff on Lemmy. But the president of the United States? Come on...

Ok, so that was the actual extra layer of information that has been missing to me :-)
Thanks!

Your president is concerned with the design of cracker packages?
Hasn't he some stuff to do, like... run a country???

Sure you do... BONK!

You mean Hannah Fry? No, I think this isn't her.

Thanks! But shouldn't it then not be rather "Like Papa, like daughter"? Or is the violet-haired person in the top panel male?

Anyway, I am still feeling old, because my sudden realization about the time-span that smartphones are already available is still true... 🫣

Something doesn't quite add up in the article's numbers:

Area of the solar farm is said to be 610 km², so 61*10⁷ m² containing 7 million solar panels.
That would be an average area of 87 m² per panel, while a standard panel itself covers ~2m².

Lot's of empty space, I would say... Seems like someone found a way to blow up some numbers so it sounds more impressive...

Also: 7 million panels to supply enough power for 5 million households? I don't think so, even in rural China...

Basically all the Lego games (although 13y olds might already find them too child-like, depends...).
They all have split screen, so are suitable for couch (or desk) coop.
Also the slightly older ones are quite inexpensive when buying them during sales (a few €).

Special recommendation: Lego City Undercover.

Another fun couch-coop-capable game would be SuperTux, a Super-Mario-Cart like game.
This one is OSS and therefore completely free!

That is not the point. Lithium-Ion-Batteries tend to enter sudden thermal runaway specifically during charging.
The charger itself doesn't matter.
Chances are that this then causes a smoldering fire whose fumes gently kill you in your sleep...

Compromise rules in my family are therefore:

  • No charging of cheap Temu-crap in bedrooms at all
  • phones only charging on fire-proof bases without covering them (so no charging in bed...)

I am pretty sure it is normal cat behaviour. Basically all cats that I have met or owned (with the exception of some very relaxed Persians) randomly behaved that way. Some more, some less.
Eyes go suddenly wide with hyperfocus, tail starts wiggling and you now have 2 seconds left to react to the sudden change of mood... Or play along for some serious pretend-fighting :-)

I am pretty sure I remember this exact video from pre-AI-video-days (which is not that long ago...)
So this would be real.

That is actually the case, I am not familiar with the Owl House...
So there is an additional layer to the comic I am not aware of?
