Not just a long time, that's been the primary purpose of NATO since its inception

You know you're right when you have to conjure increasingly abstract metaphors and allegories to illustrate your point

Okay, but imagine Joe Brandon was a banana with a worm in it, but trump was a literal piece of human feces, and according to the rules of this scenario you absolutely have to eat one of them, no other options. Oh and the joenana is dipped in human feces, but it isn't itself feces, so obviously it's still better. Oh and the one you don't choose to eat now you will probably be forced to eat later, but that's still preferable to now, right?

Okay but imagine this banana is actually a bus going to Albuquerque. No one wants to go to Albuquerque, but the other bus, the piece of human feces bus, is going to Boise, Idaho. You're obviously gonna take joenana bus to Albuquerque

Okay but

I never got around to reading them, but Hobsbawm wrote a series of books that might cover the topic. Maybe The Age of Revolution: Europe 1789–1848, or The Age of Capital: 1848–1875, or The Age of Empire: 1875–1914 have what you're looking for

I know this is always the case but this time it was blatantly obvious that Biden was reading off a script written by someone else. His cadence and emphasis suggested he barely grasped the meaning of what he was reading

Did anyone who was planning on going to this not do so? Or are all rich media people ghouls?

From what I've read, outside of like Spanish and French Duolingo's quality drastically drops. Even there it's only good for absolute beginners imo, or as a supplement to more rigorous methods.

You can own and drive a car for as little as ~$400 a month if your insurance is cheap, you don't drive too much, and you don't have collisions or expensive repairs. I usually buy shitboxes that cost less than $2k and hope to get a year of driving out of them before they die.

Which even at it's cheapest, driving is a wild cost compared to like a subway pass or whatever shit y'all public-transit-havers use.

So I understand segregation in theory, but my experience of it in the Rockies/Midwest is probably quite a bit different. What does it entail for someone moving to a new city? Is it mostly a matter of affordable apts being in poor, segregated areas?

Definitely seems to be a common recommendation, I'll check out Chicago first. Thanks!

Lol I'm from the Midwest/Rockies and I didn't even think about how large cities might just be a bus/train ride away.

[–] MovingThrowaway@hexbear.net 3 points 1 year ago

Sorry to hear that! I'll look around in Chicago. Seeing some mildly affordable studios at least

That's a cool resource, thanks!
