Is this news? I thought these mites were already on beekeepers radars

Wow that's the most hardcore electric beater I've ever seen

But 2-3 car lengths? It really bugs me when they do it in a left turn lane causing a back up to the travel lane resulting in overall congestion.

This reminds me of one time I witnessed instant karma. I was driving behind someone doing this in crawling-slow heavy traffic, and got to one of those large intersections with such lanes. Here in Australia they're right turn lanes, though that's irrelevant for the story I wanted to share.

So right in front of me there was this car with at least four guys in it, loud music, and an imbecile on the wheel. I got stuck behind him on a single lane road with no means to overtake. He was driving somewhat below the speed limit for no apparent reason and leaving a massive gap before the next car in front. He still left a large gap when we both merged on a crowded multi lane road, and he kept that 3 car spaced gap at every red light stop. He would lag several seconds before starting to move, obviously not paying attention. I honked a couple times to nudge him.

One of those irritating assholes I guess.

Now, somewhere behind me on the lane to the left there was some other guy with a red convertible and an attitude that screamed "YES I'M OVERCOMPENSATING".

We got to the intersection where the turn only lanes appeared, and the idiot in front of me was once again holding traffic as he lagged to resume driving. But the lane on my left, which continued straight, moved just enough to let the red convertible guy right beside the idiot. And then all of a sudden the convertible revved and zoomed right in front and across the idiot, cutting him off and overtaking him on the turn only lane, sliding right in that annoying massive gap he was leaving.

That was the only time in my life I celebrated such a douchebag move. The slow idiot went insane. Started yelling at the convertible, gave him the finger. The convertible was the last car able to turn on that change of lights so the idiot and everyone behind had to wait yet again for green, but I wasn't mad. Watching the car in front of me shake with rage until the lights changed again made up for it. He didn't lag once they went green again.

I think it's the copying a.k.a. "stealing" or gathering data where the problem is. AI doesn't and won't censor more than what human authorities and general public already do.

But yes the closed circles or some sort of new technology is where it's at.

This is true however often I only have a mug and a spoon or something like that which I don't want to leave dirty in the dishwasher untill it fills, because bugs or whatever reason. Manual wash, it's done in one minute

Yes, that's the case. Good direction can turn the most banal story into something interesting, but that's a rare trait, and on top of that shows and film are teamwork that also needs to answer to producers/investors/broadcasters interests and requirements. Keeping an idea fresh, with good pacing, and interesting taking all that into account is very hard.

I agree it's highly unlikely. However, I've been rear-ended once, and my car got pushed forward the space of at least another car and a half, in spite of my panicked reflex of pressing the brakes as it happened. I didn't crash into anything because I was first on the lane, I got pushed into the intersection.

So yes, you can get rear-ended and the gap in front of you will save you in money and insurance claims bs time if you don't hit anyone in front as well as a result. It will make little difference regarding your ability to switch lanes though.

In saying that, I don't leave this massive space in front of me. I stick to the "see the next car's tyres" rule and if traffic is really packed (as during rush hour, when everyone crawls start stop) I sometimes reduce it to curb parking distance.

This is kind of like me when I don't really want to watch a movie or show but I want to know what is it about so I just watch a summarized commentary on YouTube for a fraction of the time

... only I'm aware I don't really want to watch it in the first place

I'm not sure I'm understanding you correctly but yes the way art is distributed will change as artists adapt. At the moment, installation, performance and gallery sorts of artists are the least affected by AI and I think some kind of technology or mechanism will eventually emerge for digital artists to distribute their work ( and for traditional artists to be able to safely share it online). I don't know if this will be a closed network, and I'm not sure what you mean by "truly strong and stubborn" though.

Or crosswalks, or bicycles

No, I'll believe you. I used to work as an artist during covid for a vfx studio. Previously I had done some freelance illustration and other very specialized craft work I'm not going to talk about because it's very niche, and I'll doxx myself.

Anyway, for a variety of reasons beyond my control all that ended, I got depression, unemployed, and while I was trying to get back on my feet we got this fucking AI explosion. All my work posted online has to have been used for training models. And I haven't posted anything online since- in fact I haven't found the motivation to complete a single artwork at the same level I used to. I've been dedicated to learning more technical things in vfx, but failed to get an industry job for over two years now. I got a couple basic customer service jobs for the first time in my life, which I'm not enjoying much and really don't give me an opportunity to use my skills, knowledge or talents in any way, but they give a paycheck so whatever.

While AI isn't the original reason for my unemployment, it really influences my job prospects now (negatively). It has also absolutely ruined what used to be my online network and online art community, which was essential in keeping my mind in the right place. I'm not personally aware of any artists that have committed "passage to another world" (as you say- is this because of word filters?) because of this, but as I've explained I've withdrawn from my previous circles so I wouldn't be surprised artists getting triggered into self harm because of AI. We artists tend to be more sensitive and react more strongly than other people under certain circumstances.

AI and all its consequences really weigh heavily against my mental health - it discourages true artistic expression, which in turn exacerbates isolation and a feeling of pointlessness. Yes it's absolutely a reason people would want to un alive themselves.
