I'm from Buenos Aires and didn't know about the existence of this meme

It's difficult to make a choice but I think sphinx moths are my favorite moths

It's not about making something eternal, it's about letting the public be able to maintain it once the company ceases

In other words don't trash, donate

So... Since according to the meme the Spanish Christians didn't shift the blame I guess it has to be them, right?

I've had very little experience with weed, didn't take it with caffeine. Is that a thing? Does it feel different?

[–] Mothra@mander.xyz 3 points 2 weeks ago

Ohhh yesss it's one of those flies that do the wavy thing with their wings if you approach to their mushroom. They're trying to protect their territory

The drawings are very abstract.

Because I didn't watch Yellowjackets as already mentioned, I don't know if the drawing is also supposed to represent an impaled female figure at all in the show. The quote says it's unclear, but perhaps the characters at some point establish that's what it represents. If that's the case, I agree with you, yeah it's offensive and inappropriate to draw something that most people know represents impaled women with hooks up their asses.

However, personally, I have to do some intense mental gymnastics to see those scribbles as impaled women with hooks up their asses. To me they look like geometric symbols and without any context I would have thought it was something related to alchemy or astrology. Not murder.

Warm and humid, with regular brief showers.

So, tropical.

Thanks for the link, here is a quote:

Throughout the Showtime original series Yellowjackets, a strange symbol appears. It resembles an impaled female figure, with a hook coming out of the bottom. As of the end of the program's third season, the symbol's exact significance remains unknown.

So... Management at OP's workplace are just making a fuss over nothing or they were really traumatized by the show? I never watched it

My friend is asking too, she says she's just curious but I know she's kinky

I love the line highlighted on the right side, "light is the source of surprise, the romance from the toilet"

Lol

Such a long title.

Basically I'm wondering if this happens IRL, and how. I've heard countless stories of people who hold a grudge against family members /ex partners/ ex friends/ neighbours etc. for years, and they do horrible things to each other. Or maybe just the cold shoulder can be rough especially for such a long time. But not so many stories of people in these situations who suddenly talk things out unexpectedly, out of their own will and not because they kept getting nagged about whatever happened.

I've also heard about people who screw up big once, never acknowledge or apologize, then everyone puts the episode behind and moves on. But I've never heard about suddenly this person perhaps decades afterwards just actually addressing their screw up and apologizing.

So, have you ever received one of these big, unexpected apologies? Or have you ever apologized for something you did you never thought you would want or dare to apologize for?

I'm a very casual sailor, and not very tech savvy, but I've torrented and used magnet links in the past with no issues.

I found the file I'm looking for. But things have changed. The site I used doesn't provide magnets anymore, only Rapidgator links (split into 5 rar files, this is going to take me days) for direct downloads .

Every other link I found sends me to torrent trackers I need to create an account for, such as RuTracker. Which I tried, and with different emails, (brand new emails) yet every time I get rejected. Why? What am I doing wrong? Do I need to wait a couple of hours after creating the account? Are the sites not accepting registrations anymore?

I drive a small automatic car. For the most part, it struggles a bit with steep uphills, and picks up speed when going downhill. That's to be expected.

But then I noticed some downhills actually slow it down. I've noticed during a two-hour motorway trip I often do to visit family, there are some specific downhills, not all, just some, where my car always slows down and I have no idea why.

Ideas?

edit: feel free to reply no matter how old this thread gets!

I'm not particularly into anime, I like it just as much as live action shows or other types of animation. Having said that, I feel like watching some and I'm not sure what to pick.

Here's a list of other anime shows I've watched/manga and novels I've read, so you can better judge what to recommend. ( would greatly appreciate the story to be completed, I hate waiting years for closure) :

Full Metal Alchemist, Naruto : both great stories, I've read the mangas and loved them. They wouldn't be a priority to watch because I already read them.

Attack on Titan: started with the anime, it was great, switched to the manga, got extremely disappointed with the story development and its ending. It felt a bit like nonsense for me.

Dragon Ball/Z : probably my favourite, I've rewatched it recently. I don't like GT and Super.

Overlord: I've read good part of the novel and manga. I'm liking it so far

JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: please No thanks. Not for me.

Death Note: loved the first arc, not a fan of the ending but no hate for it unlike with AOT.

I also recall Escaflowne and Inuyasha, they were alright but not something I've loved or hated. Cowboy Bebop also in this category, excellent visually and great OST but the story wasn't as gripping.

Other than that... Feel free to suggest any other titles! Extra thanks if you are specific about any versions and why is the show so great.

TIA

TLDR: Can you recommend an addon/plugin that helps with FBX issues upon import and export? I found only https://blendermarket.com/products/better-fbx-importer--exporter which is a bit expensive for me, no guarantee it will work either.

Option 2: can you recommend a plugin or addon that recalculates the normals more effectively or that could somehow help with this? Or perhaps you know a workaround?

I've used Maya, Zbrush and other 3D software for roughly 5 years but I've only started learning Blender for about a month. So I'm not exactly sure which are the best resources or where to find them. From some basic researching, I see it's common for Blender to mess up FBX imports and exports. Because of that, I'm surprised I can't find more addons for these situations. I guess I could try importing and exporting an OBJ from Zbrush but this wouldn't be the ideal workflow.

I've followed this tutorial to the letter https://youtu.be/9NjMeAFkm3s and even downloaded the same model used, https://3dsky.org/3dmodels/show/ch33t_chair_2 , however, after setting up the shader, I found ugly seams when applying the normal map. I already tried selecting the model in edit mode and recalculating normals, setting normals from faces, averaging, flipping, etc. and no good results. I also tried marking all edges soft, no luck. I've selected the correct UV set as you can see in the shader.

I see the same problem in 3.5 and 3.6.

Thanks

So I'm in my deathbed right now, fever and chills and pain everywhere but especially on my legs. Why? Whatever I caught seems to be attacking my throat. Is the leg pain directly caused by the virus, or is it a defense mechanism of my body? Thanks

What the title says. The higher the number of comments under a post, the more likely there will be an error. I see a post, it says "X number of comments", but when I go to the comments and count them, I notice is X -10 approx. Often more than that. Is there a reason for this comment count discrepancy?

EDIT: Turns out is the same using a browser, so apologies for presuming it was an app related issue. If the mods think this post needs to go- please go ahead and delete

" oh sweet summer child " you might be thinking, and yeah. I got no clue.

A thing I appreciate about Lemmy is the tech savy, privacy conscious crowd. Since joining I've seen these topics discussed a lot more often so here I am, wondering how much and when do apps collect information about their users. Most people usually don't mind or don't notice this, and those who do often come across as conspiracy theorists.

What I'm trying to figure is what exactly gets mined, how, and for how long. I heard some apps track your eye movements or record your camera at all times. I've heard that Google records your audio 24/7. I find it hard to believe this would happen all the time as it sounds like pretty expensive process in phone resources as well as space (information is unlikely to be stored on video format, right? Is it even human readable at all?) Obviously if I purchase something online or if I'm browsing for a specific topic on any app, that data is gathered and used- I've seen it myself, after browsing about X, or purchasing X, I'll see more ads and content similar to X ( if it makes it past my adblocker of course, but it's hard to block ads on some apps). Now, does Google truly know how many times a day I fart ? Does Instagram keep track record of people's faces and underwear color when they scroll in the toilet? Does it happen in the background at all times or only while I use those apps?

These are the stupid questions I need to know about. Sources appreciated. TIA.

I used to be pretty happy with their online services but last year they failed to lodge my taxes even though I had them ready and paid months ahead of the due date. Very disappointing.

I'm currently unemployed and I can't do the taxes myself. Too hard to understand all the jargon and what goes where. I had a few short jobs here and there, supplemented with some freelance work, so I'm not the typical one-payslip-employee case.

Before HR Block I used to go to an accountant but I'm estimating today that's going to cost me around $400 the least. I'm living off savings until I find work so I'd rather avoid this.

So I'm reaching out to you, aussie lemmings, in case you have any good alternatives. Thanks

Ages ago Elon Musk used to be positively regarded by most people. I missed everything that happened that changed the public opinion, I missed the changes he imposed on Twitter (though I gather it's the same as it happened with reddit, only earlier) and yeah. I'm out of the loop. If someone can briefly recap the main events I'd be grateful.

For me, things went like this: Pre-pandemic, everybody wants to own a tesla ev, Elon is smoking pot with Joe Rogan and the world is cheering. Then the pandemic hits. Then the pandemic lifts. Then in 2023 all of a sudden everyone online saying he's awful, a blood emerald hoarder, destroyer of twitter, tesla stinks, etc etc. Did it all happen overnight? Was there a main trigger event or was it a gradual thing? What, exactly happened to twitter after his takeover- is reddit truly a by-the-book carbon copy of his decisions with API changes?

I've been living under a rock.

About a year ago and this was just a couple of leaves that a storm washed out on the driveway. It's been sitting in a pot ever since, now over a metre long and with flowers. Can anyone ID please? (Australia, near Sydney- doesn't look native to me though)
