I wanna have a long furby character someday
MossyFeathers
I want one.
Edit: what I really want is one of those 20mm rifles that can take AA rounds. That'd be fucking sick. Just point it at something and boom! It's not a problem anymore!
Edit 2: the reason why I like obscenely high-caliber rifles is because it's fascinating to see all the different configurations that militaries have tried in an attempt to make a mobile, "hand-held" rifle capable of firing such a huge bullet without destroying the user's shoulder in the process.
I'm annoyed that there's no mention of Simon Stålenhag despite the fact that this movie is based on his artwork.
I have an Index. Not a Reverb. I was saying I'm glad I got an Index instead of a Reverb.
Fucking yikes. I almost got a reverb g2, I'm so glad I went with an index instead. Not that I'm planning to ever upgrade to windows 11, but I'm still safe if they try to nuke it in Windows 10 as well.
Oh sweetie. I'm sorry to ask this, but where the fuck have you been the past 8~9 years!? C'mon dude. We're in over our heads inside la-la land; where you can just make up whatever you want and hordes of people believe it because they want to. Facts don't matter if you don't want them to.
Nah, Denethor gave a pent-up troll a blowjob.
I'll take a look at it. The CRT is a bit sentimental to me (it's the same model as the one my first PC had, managed to find one on eBay in good condition after like, a year of searching) which is why I'm concerned about blowing it up. However, I might see if any electronics recycling places in my area have a shitty, beat-up CRT TV they'd be willing to part with. That said, I discovered recently that most of the remaining recycling places in my area are run by computer enthusiasts and tend to sell or hold onto anything with any value like CRTs though, so wish me luck.
Kinda genius really. Into old PCs but don't wanna pay eBay prices for them? Become an electronics recycler and then people will pay you to take their old SGI workstations and Sony BVMs.
Honestly, I'm not really against the idea of there being ruins somewhere on Mars; it's speculated that there was a time when Mars may have been perfectly habitable. For all we know life could have emerged sooner on Mars than it did on Earth and was extinguished as the planet grew hostile.
However, can we wait to get hysterical about rock outcroppings being possible sphinxes until we actually have humans on the planet?
I don't really support defacing art either, but at the same time, it's not like the art is gonna matter if the planet burns, is it? The only people who'll still be around to enjoy it are rich people, and they'll probably just ditch it the moment they realize it doesn't have a monetary value anymore due to societal collapse.
So what's the point? Throw soup at art (in Minecraft). Throw grenades at yachts (in Minecraft). None of this will matter soon (in the real world).
All we need to do is build a similar setup and then find a guitar and a CRT and see what happens
Edit: actually, I've got a guitar and a CRT and maybe half of the pieces there. The big thing I'm concerned about is destroying the CRT. I have no idea how sensitive CRTs are or how much power is coming from a guitar.
Nice monitor, I think my mom had that one when I was growing up. Does it go up to 1600x1200? I think that was the resolution her monitor had. I think it was also an aperture grille instead of a shadow mask.
Mine was a basic-bitch beige shadow mask tube (which, amusingly, now tend to be worth more than a lot of the last generation mid-range CRTs despite being lower quality). I managed to find one on eBay in decent condition after a year or two of searching, so now it's sitting in my room. My next CRT might be one like yours.
Edit: I wish someone could come up with an inexpensive way of manufacturing small quantities of CRTs. There aren't any new CRTs and likely won't be due to the cost and complexity of the tubes. All the "new" ones are actually low-use tubes in new shells.
