I don't understand why people shun Chick-fil-A for being homophobic, but will happily jerk off to in-and-out all day long. They're the same. "Oh but they're both corporations so whatever." Yeah, but some corporations are worse than others. Stop being a hypocrite.

Nothing. The second comment ("I can't tell if he's a man or a woman with hair that long") is arguably trans/queerphobic (or just toxic masculinity) but afaik nothing xenophobic.

If getting messaged once a week or so to ask if you wanna hang is "smothering" and "risk pushing" you away, then maybe, just maybe, the problem is not the dude messaging.

???

What?

Where in OP's post was this mentioned?

Are you okay?

It's not a tightrope walk, a friendship is built on mutual respect. Feeling left out and lonely because there is no reciprocation whatsoever is normal. Calling this OP's fault is extremely toxic, holy shit. If it's a tightrope walk, you didn't wanna be friends from the very beginning and are bad at communicating your intent.

You still have to maintain a middle ground, and blaming the other for a lack of interest like OP's meme seems to imply, is not the correct way of doing things either. That is also extremely toxic, and it's the kind of behavior I mainly see people who tend to smother or cling to others engage in. Being smothering or clingy is not even remotely healthy and will absolutely drive people away.

I need more stuff that feels like this and consumer soft products' stuff.

It's a tightrope walk. Put in too much effort and you risk pushing them away. Not enough effort and they lose interest. That is also why, in my experience, it is a good idea to have multiple friends. If you're someone who needs a lot of attention, it allows you to have multiple sources of attention without being smothering towards one person.

Glad to see that she was understanding about it! You should honestly consider going out with her. She seems very sweet.

Go talk to her. If she's someone who's worth dating then she'll understand.

Yes. Cub stuff can be banned for all I care.

It's only a matter of time before they come for furry stuff. They did it with fansly. It's apparently "simulated bestiality" and from what I've heard you aren't even allowed to reference trans puppy girls, pup play, etc without getting banned.

Did you know that he worked for Blizzard for seven years? Not only that, but he was Blizzard's first second-generation employee. He grew up in Blizzard. An extreme accomplishment to be certain. Thank you based and blizzpilled Pirate Software.

I wonder if he was the one stealing the breast milk. After all, I've heard he can be really childish.

At this point I'm trying to get off my antidepressant because I think it's suppressing a lot of the mood changes I would have otherwise gotten from starting estrogen. So far it seems like my guess is correct; every time I step down a dose my feelings get stronger, I feel less dissociated, and so forth. It's a double edged sword though. I've had some moments of extreme dysphoria while my brain is getting used to the lower dosage.

Good thrift stores? (pawb.social)
submitted 2 years ago* (last edited 2 years ago) by MossyFeathers@pawb.social to c/dfw@lemmy.world

Hey, are there any good thrift stores in Dallas/Plano area that tend to have stuff like instruments, electronics and/or tech equipment (ideally older stuff)?

On a side note, is anyone familiar with Liberty Tech Computer World? It's a warehouse in an industrial area in Garland, and I was hoping it might be a place like Computer Reset since it's (supposedly) in a big warehouse, however I've been unable to find any websites associated with it. I haven't tried calling yet, but I was curious if anyone else knew anything about it.

Usually they come downstairs to listen to music with me while I eat breakfast. However, sometimes they want to sleep in.

This is a """school""" that makes "pray away the gay" camps look like lovely vacation experiences. They primarily cater to families with neurodivergent kids under the guise of helping them learn how to function in a neurotypical society. They use methods like GEDs to administer electric shocks when students "act up", long-term restraints (which the students have to carry with them in case they have to be "conditioned"), solitary confinement, sensory deprivation and food deprivation. I'd highly recommend reading the entire article, especially the parts about behavioral modification, controversies, litigation, and work culture. It's so much worse than you can imagine. I wanted to quote parts of the article to highlight how bad it is, but I would be copying and pasting half the article.

This place is still in operation.

I don't have a tarantula anymore, but they're really cool.
