Slightly related: it annoys me that "the south" is a region in the USA. I'm fine with everything else, east coast, west coast, midwest whatever. But if I want to talk about the south, I can't say "southern America" because people will think I'm talking about the continent of South America. If i talk about a "southern American" then I have to clarify that I mean someone from Alabama.
Really the problem was calling a country the same thing as a continent. Shit just gets confusing. Call the south of the USA Dixie or something idc
You've gotten some good answers so I just want to say thanks for asking these questions and genuinely trying to learn. There's been a lot of stubborn people who won't listen to anything they don't like on here recently but there's also been plenty of open-minded people like you, and it makes me glad to see that
I grew up in the middle of nowhere so delivery services never reached me, then I became a student who was (and still is) too poor to pay the extra four bucks or so for delivery. If I'm getting takeaway there's so many local restaurants and places I pass on my commute to college that it just makes no sense to get delivery
There used to be a Chinese restaurant (or what we call Chinese in Ireland, half of it was chips and curry) near me that had ridiculously cheap meals and the food was amazing. They only accepted cash and even though there was a dining area, the only people who ever sat there were the worker's kids doing their homework. I came to the conclusion that it had to be a front for money laundering because the food was so good and so cheap

It's amazing to see the difference between Obama and Trump. Obama has a PR team who craft his image perfectly to be a relatable but respectable man, someone who's calm and intelligent, the adult in the room, but he posts his Spotify wrapped so you know he's one of you, just better. I have to imagine that the public image of Obama is so far removed from his actual thoughts and behaviour because liberals would shatter into a million pieces if they saw him taking a bribe.
Then Trump just spews any and all shit that comes out of his mouth, completely unfiltered, and his piggies lap it up. And so do I, it's utterly hilarious that the president of the most powerful country on earth says shit like this and people love him for it
