The article is okay but wtf is this

This is what we're up against

Teams of lawyers from the rich and powerful trying to stop us publishing stories they don’t want you to see.

Lobby groups with opaque funding who are determined to undermine facts about the climate emergency and other established science.

Authoritarian states with no regard for the freedom of the press.

Bad actors spreading disinformation online to undermine democracy.

But we have something powerful on our side.

We’ve got you.

The Guardian is funded by readers like you in Ireland and the only person who decides what we publish is our editor.

If you want to join us in our mission to share independent, global journalism to the world, we’d love to have you on side.

Wtf is this pathetic shit Guardian. Begging for a 10 euro monthly subscription with this west wing bullshit. "Only you can stop evil Russian and Chinese propaganda! Just give us money so we can publish articles about how our intern looked through some trends on TikTok!"

Literally voting for 99% Hitler. I hope this person gets deported to Palestine and faces and IDF rifle. Just pure fascism

"Our genocide is fine because its happening to brown people over there. Their genocide is bad because I will have to see it."

just doing a quick ctrl+f, rn y has 111 matches, and n has 144, but some people have written "no" more than once in their comment, or written "non-binary", or their name has "no" in it. So it seems that the yes vs no is about equal

The top comment on one Rebr0s threads was from BasedBall

God, those were such interesting times

I need a fucking job or some kind of project I can't just keep sitting around and playing video games for the rest of my life.

Nah bad take. It's pretty clear in the text that Geto's plan to eliminate curses was wrong and just driven by his hatred of non-sorcerors, and also there are also other ways to get rid of curses, like getting rid of cursed energy or teaching everyone to control their cursed energy. Also sorcerers are most common in Japan because of Tengen's barrier, not because Japanese people are special.

There are also good queer characters, a lot of anti-conservatism and some anti-capitalist messages.

Not anymore than like any other superhero thing imo. Yeah it sucks but it's more of an indictment of the genre

Fascism in AOT is the only effective method to keep the main characters safe. Armin and Hange supposedly spent four years in the time gap looking for a peaceful method to resolve things between Marley and Paradis and failed, and literally no one had any other ideas except for Zeke (end the Eldian race) and Eren (genocide everyone but Paradis). Armin's pacifism is presented as useless, especially in the fight at the fight in the harbour where he's unable to avoid killing his friends.

There are no communists or even liberals in the world of AOT. Marley is a fascist nation, the Eldian resistance want to return the Eldian empire, Zeke wants to exterminate the Eldians and the Jaegerists want to kill everyone outside Paradis.

I distinctly remember one time when I was maybe 16, having a shower and thinking about what would happen if everyone' conditions became better. Then I realised that capitalism would collapse of that was the case, because capitalism requires inequality, and I was like hmm maybe capitalism ain't so good.

I thought the reason people in poor countries were poor was because they didn't have social democracy. Once I thought more about why there are poor people in the first place, I very quickly became a communist

Liberal voting strategy comes down to "vote for us or we will let fascists kill you"
