What measures can we have to increase our independency on the se contractors but without skipping protection? Is a physical key enough?

The pay also depends if you work for yourself or someone else. You can make a decent living working for yourself, but if you work for someone else on this area, you'll be exploited, and exploited a lot!

At least Lenovo already has this option in some laptop models. I bought a Thinkpad last September and it had an option to buy it with Windows, Ubuntu or without any OS. It really should be the standard
