It is very likely that Flus stays and Getsy goes. It QB turnover is the plan then it makes sense to go secure a new OC.

It’s good you called out what th me Vikings D usually does and also what they were doing to adjust to the Bears. They basically were showing blitz every play and then dropping 2-4 deep giving away the middle. They were baiting Fields to think himself into turnover chances.

Most teams really struggle to run against the constant blitz packages. We are only 1 of 3 teams, and we did it twice, to run for 100+ yards against them. So those 6 man box packages are confusing for the line. Then we run motion to help JF1 identify the package. This moves receivers to different routes that take longer.

I still think the core issue with offensive production is JF1 decision making and pocket presence. Adjustments are then made to help him, but this takes the game plan into very predictable reads for the D.

Eberflus would get 4.5 mil per for the next two years if fired. If demoted it probably comes with a pay reduction as 4.5 mil for a DC might be a record salary.

If fired, he gets his money and the potential to get onto a staff elsewhere or another DC role.

Best advice for now is to not play this game. The lines are drawn in this sub.

Coaches are at fault.

Fields cannot execute in crunch time giving away win after win.

The only result in playing is global thermonuclear war.

This is why this sub is so lost.

We have to believe that Getsy draws up a play on 3rd and 9 where the whole goal is first down and keep the clock rolling. So the first read is deep ball to rookie WR in double coverage.

It’s not the coaching. It is the execution. Justin continues to blow it in crunch time and looks great the other 52 minutes.

They traded away Tyreek Hill. FAFO with Justin Watson and Marquez Valdez-Scantling and Kadarius Toney.

What is his QBR in crunch time?

Situational intelligence is worth more than any stat line.

When it counted Hurts throws to Smith and he makes a great catch.

RB goes to flat because it’s four man rush. He’s a dump off. He’s meant to pull LB up. He did his job.

The drop is Justin’s fault. He’s too deep. You’re asking about this play so you will get it scored.

The play call with the time we had was no more than five steps and boom release to out route. No chance it was seven steps and pray for someone to be open.

This is how Justin ends up with 18.6 QBR in the final two minutes of halves.

I say this as someone that knows Justin had a fantastic game against the Lions, but his mistakes were game changers. Maybe more reps and he stops making the same mistakes. I hope so.

They don’t remember that preseason. Too many nightmares since then. They’ve forgotten.

But playing Dalton was always going to be week 1 and as long as necessary to protect Fields development. Fields only played because Dalton scrambled and hurt his knee or leg. Then Fields was totally destroyed.

When up 12 Tremaine Edmunds fails to bring down Gibbs in the middle of the field. It is 2nd and 4. If Edmunds brings Gibbs down the Lions convert and the clock runs. Instead, Edmunds tries to wrap and throw Gibbs down. Gibbs spins out of it and hustles to get OB.

This is the type of execution that Flus is right about. Almost there is this. Edmunds has to being Gibbs down there.

Instead, Gibbs gets OB. Lions huddle. Next play is 32 yard TD pass. This was way bigger than we realize.

JF1 has a 18.7 QBR in the final two minutes of every half played. Yikes.

Trestman was fired after two seasons. But only because Emery was fired at the same time. The team was lost with little future. There was almost no leadership anywhere in the building.

Every other Bears coach under the McCaskeys has had 6, 4, 12, 3 and 4 years.

Flus and co are you not going anywhere. It’s not a coaches are the problem problem.

“It’s like he was put on this planet to play QB in the NFL.”

The folk lore has gone religious.
