I mean with regards to this poll, yes and no. Look at the question framing. For some questions this is true but a lot don't really leave space for that mistake:

Did trump have a negative affect on grocery prices?

Did trump have a negative affect on your finances prices?

Will Trump's tarrifs increase the price of every day goods?

These don't ask if Trump or his administration is responsible for high grocery prices or CoL or the financial climate, just if he has helped or worsened it. Other questions are pretty clear in their separation from this specific administration:

Do you believe Corporations or billionaires have had an active role in making life more difficult for average people over the past 25 years?

Do you believe congressional Republicans or congressional Democrats have made life more difficult?

A lot of the other questions just have to do with how anxious people feel about finances or the concerns they have and doesn't really ask about any politicians at all.

Of course you are absolutely right that, in general, people have an astonishingly and consistently short memory resulting in attributing current problems to current politicians but I dunno if this poll is really indicative of that.

I'm betting on her suddenly testifying before court and "bearing it all." Confessing that there really isn't any list and they blackmailed and trafficked girls but only to a few sacrificial and unimportant people. And she will conveniently walk free as part of a plea deal to be included in the deal Epstein struck in 2007.

I mean you might not like it but he's totally right. I stopped eating carrot cake 3 years ago and about 4 months afterwards I got in a horrific car accident. 2 people were critically injured, 2 more died and a llama was also killed. I was miraculously unharmed and the doctors said if I had even a bite of carrot cake in the months leading up to that I would have been hurt badly. Who knows how big that medical bill would have been... Thanks Dr. Oz!

In situations like this where it clearly won't matter, I've always seen it as basically a token vote that they pass around to whoever's turn it is. Everybody on the team gets a few votes throughout their term where they can vote against something that will pass anyway and then they can turn around later when their constituents are mad about whatever and just say "but remember? I voted against that thing you hated!"

I could of course be completely wrong but it just seems like the math just barely works out in the majority party's favor way too much to be a coincidence.

Lol I always thought the same thing! This may be the hardest I've ever ate the onion in my life.

It's almost worse than that. I swear, some of them take a perverse pride in being led all around the political landscape like a dog with a shiny red ball. The discussions I've had where people happily and excitedly admit that Trump was completely lying to them and just hungrily accept the new story as undeniable fact is wild and impossible for me to wrap my head around.

I'd say they do them justice to some degree no? I quite enjoyed the first movie, it changed some stuff from the book for sure but I feel like it captured the same feel for the most part and does the story justice. Admittedly, the lost world was a bit of a mess as they combined some stuff from different books and changed the ending for the worse I'd say but Ive seen much worse adaptations in the theatre.

"We don't want to be bought by the federal government, thank you very much," a resident said. "We'd like the federal government to stay out of Kerr County and their money."

While the county ultimately kept the funds, they allocated the majority, about $8 million, to sheriff's department upgrades and public employee stipends

I... what? "We don't want your stinking money. We'll still take it tho... We just won't spend it on what we said we would. That'll show you dumb idgits!"

I appreciate the sentiment but the (very shitty) reality is single player games don't come any where near the profitability of these multiplayer games in the current climate. Like no where even remotely close in terms of effort to profit. You can straight up clone call of duty every year, or add a few maps to fortnite, or add a new operator to siege, and monetize every tiny fraction of the game thru micro transactions and people will keep on playing and keep on paying.

Single player games operate pretty much the opposite. You buy it once. Play thru it. Beat it. And generally never touch it again unless maybe some dlc comes out and you might add a few more hours to it and then never think about it again.

I say this as a giant fan of single narrative games, it's just a much smarter business move to pump out shitty online multiplayer games.

Fortnite was released in 2017, last year it netted almost $6 billion.

Call of duty has been dog water for like a decade. Its been the best selling game every single year since 2009 unless Rockstar releases a game (and Hogwarts legacy randomly dominating one year).

World of Warcraft came out in 2004. Last year they announced they had over 7 million active subscribers... Over two decades later.

Apex legends came out in 2019, last year it made over $3 billion.

The list goes on and on and on. You just can't compete with weirdos obsessed with showing off a wizard hat on their character in an online game or busting open a loot box to get a new weapon skin or something.

Plus it's not even real. It snowed just last winter.

Why don't Lemmy posts (from any instance) show up on search engines? Like if I try my hardest to get a thread to show up, virtually nothing from the actual instances in the fediverse comes up. I'm sure if I searched the exact url or something I could get it but it's very noticable that the search engines by and large just kind of gloss over posts on here and I'm not sure why.

This stinks cause that was one of the biggest draws for reddit. So many times when you search some super obscure or specific question you'd get a few reddit threads with all sorts of information.
