Just curious as I went down the rabbit hole of doing Jay Cutler research, found an older reddit thread from 2016 of fans asking if he could be a hall of fame and there's a ton of people rejecting the notion that he was even elite in his era or even good let alone HOF worthy.

Cutler only played 11 seasons and he's still top 35 in passing yards, he's ahead of 19 of the 28 current QBs in the hall of fame and his era is probably only adding another 3 or 4 more, so he will still be in the top 50% of passing yards out of QBs who are in the hall of fame.

He's also 36th all time in passing TDs, ahead of 17 QBs currently in the hall of fame.

Now I get he didn't play long enough to make the hall of fame, but he's the all time passing leader for 2 different franchises, and it's not like he had a long run of great WR play here.

So why are we pretending he wasn't great? He could have easily broken 50K passing yards 350 TD career if he played as long as a Big Ben, Manning, Brady, Brees etc if he wanted to.

(He would have only needed to average 2500 yards and 20 TDs a year over 6 more years to get those numbers)

They still have an elite defense. They went what, 3-1 with PJ Walker ?

Keep that one as a loss boys
