Indeed. Nouveau simply does not have the gaming performance of Nvidia's proprietary driver.
Are you into gaming? If not, then it is perfectly fine to run the nouveau driver.
Many people are not activists like Richard Stallman. Perhaps it's better to run libre software, but it's perfectly reasonable to also run proprietary software.
For example, I switched to Linux when I could run proprietary games on Proton.
Canadians, do not follow this guide. I saw a Canadian on YouTube who thought Canada had the same constitution as the US and it didn't end well.
Why? You bought the games. It's like going to the store, buying a bunch of clothes, and realizing after a few months that you don't want them anymore. They cannot be returned.
Yup. Cyberpunk is often on sale, but I always ask myself if I can really play it when I'm in the middle of other games.
