GoComics gave me a hard time for a bit with constant breaking changes every few days. But it's been stable for a while now.
That said, I want to point out that while posts on the fediverse are decentralized, images are not.
Instances can re-host post media, but it's only a temporarily cached thumbnail, or temporary proxied image. Instances do not re-host every piece of media on the fediverse, rather, while the post metadata is duplicated, the media url in the post, even as it federates to other instaces, always points to the original posters home instances image-rs server. Which is where every person opening the post url will load it from.
A DMCA takedown request would absolutely be enforcable.

Element is the main one, maintained by the matrix organization. I use it on my desktop and when needed in a web browser.
On my phones I use Schildi, which is a fork of Element with some niceties.
Fluffy is also popular, but does not have feature parity with element. Nothing does.
Element X / Schildi NEXT are wip next-gen clients.
Cinny is popular on desktop, but again, does not have feature parity with Element.

If you're unfamiliar, you can cross-post your posts to multiple communities.
Once you make the first post, you can use the cross-post feature to make additional posts in other suitable communities. They will link together so people can see all the comments, and lemmy will be able to tell it's the "same" post and not show it many times in peoples feeds.
