That really synthetises why I dislike microblogging so much: It's a bunch of people throwing small-talk and rage bait everywhere, all the time.

Considering a lot of people are really bad at conservation in every possible way, it also makes sense why microblogging is so much more popular than forum-like platforms.

They apparently base it on your location and device model (as in, it only shows reviews from devices that are similar in specs and compatibility to yours)

They're probably both paying Google to remove bad reviews, and hiring review farms to leave positive reviews.

This feels really accurate, but it being an experiment would imply Steve Huffglue actually wants to learn something about anything that isn't Elon-senpai's life.

I can only hope so. Anything to both have the American population freed from their capitalist overlords, and for the whole world to also be freed from America's capitalist overlords. Even a temporary destabilization of their empires would be beneficial.

As someone from the global south, that'd be lovely.

I'm actually spending more time in here than I ever (proportionately) spent on Reddit 👀

But I agree, I'm definitely more at home in here, discussions are more relevant and with way less noise. The fact there's no "karma counter" attached to our profiles also makes things more comfortable since we don't feel the pressure to always be agreeable. It's fine to have disagreements sometimes, but the karma system made people too wary of doing so.

For a country that seem so bullish on FREEDOM, they're oh so heavily surveilled. Possibly among the most surveilled citizens in the world, since we don't really know to what extent both their own government and their big corporations spy on them, but we always keep discovering more and more.

To be honest, having good frontends for accessing the fediverse on mobile devices isn't really a waste of time, as it helps introducing the fediverse to more people. It's also more convenient for some users, I prefer to access Lemmy through Jerboa for example.

But there are always possibilities to increase compatibility and ease of use between the diverse ActivityPub platforms, there could be something like "templating interfaces" for different content formats, for example. I think it's mostly a matter of time and adoption, the more users something has, the more developers we can have, who'll be interested in making things more accessible and frictionless.

I'll still try it with Jerboa, but it worked really well through the default UI (accessing your instance directly through the browser, as in feddit.nl/c/techlore@neat.tube for example)

Damn, that's neat! Gonna follow Nick's channel (the linux experiment) from here.

edit: Okay, that worked really well. It shows on Lemmy as !thelinuxexperiment_channel@tilvids.com

I'd really love her to be a Geo off-field DPS, but without her damage being tied to a construct like Albedo. I need more damage for my Noelle team 🥲
