What I, at least in theory, try to do is upvote everyone I'm replying to even if I'm replying to disagree - because if I've replied then by definition it has contributed to the conversation. It gives your reply better visibility as well. It's really hard to do sometimes though.

Not for me it isn't, smartphones and tablets have always been a horrible user experience (and I'm always bewildered by stories about them replacing desktop/laptops for people), I only have a smartphone out of social pressure, making them even worse is going to drive me away further.
Honestly I once owned one and I didn't like it. This may get downvoted because it seems to go against popular opinion but with a bidet I never felt properly clean until I'd wiped myself with paper afterwards - washing myself with water was fine but took time and I'd always get some more off with paper.
I would think it would be the responsibility of lemmy.world to put up a notice of why they've done this, if they've not then that potentially reflects badly on them (but I don't know enough about the details and reasons).
I think the answer is not yet, but unless you're some kind of fediverse celebrity it shouldn't be that burdensome, right?
Good job this is Lemmy then and each instance can set their own rules.
Keep it at the bottom, that's how the old Opera browser had it back when it was one of the first mobile browsers and it's always felt completely natural to me since.
I don't even think you need to go as far as comparing it to emulators and torrent downloaders. It just downloads what's publicly hosted on the web, it's no different from a web browser basically.
Not sure why you're being hostile to me but I'm not interested in an argument.
Balance doesn't mean giving equal platform to every racist bigot though, there has to be a line drawn somewhere. Wikipedia doesn't accept the Mail as a source, personally I don't think it should be accepted here.
