Logically, this combined with their insistence that they can revoke legal status means that no one's citizenship is guaranteed. Everyone born in the US is descended from people who weren't citizens. And those who went through a process to become citizens can apparently have that yanked away if the current administration get its way.

If I were the next president and had to try and undo the damage these fascists are inflicting, I'd start by deporting the bastards behind this shit in all three branches of government, starting with the the Supreme Court. Maybe just drop them all off in Antarctica.

I just tell people "Eh, I'm still on the right side of the grass."

Don't underestimate the power of a pointy stick. Whatever size advantage the beast may have, it's not going to be able to simply ignore stab wounds.

Look at it this way, if you were naked and unarmed, and a dozen or more little imps as tall as your knee started stabbing at you from all angles with spears that can easily rupture your vital organs, how brave would you be to charge at them and try to kill them all with your bare hands?

Thanks to a bullshit Texas law, you have to have 3% ownership in Tesla to sue them as an investor. And I doubt many people who still hold more than a token amount of Tesla stock would be inclined to sue anyway. All the sane investors got out of there a long time ago.

Let's set aside the horrific implications for a moment. And let's ignore the part about deporting American citizens as a form of collective punishment.

Just reading this in the most charitable way possible, he's saying that we could let businesses sponsor the migrant workers and in doing so allow them to stay. What a clever idea, why haven't we tried that before? Oh wait, we have, they're called work visas. Too bad half your party opposes them (while the other half wants to use them as a form of indentured servitude). Not that it even matters that much when you are deporting people who are here legally anyway.

Doesn't matter what promises Trump makes (even if he had actually meant them), when ICE has an absurdly high quota to meet and free reign to deport people without due process, no paperwork will be able to keep immigrants safe. They will just continue to go for the easiest targets

Because they aren't just doing nothing, they are actively interfering.

What's wrong with the classic volcano sacrifice?

They're the same IP, but they aren't the same continuity. And I wouldn't be surprised if they have the license for the show specifically and not the books.

Look at it this way, if a new Witcher game was being announced, how big of a difference would it make for it to be a spinoff of the existing games, a new adaptation of the books, or a an adaptation of the Netflix show?

Are we not going to acknowledge how fucked up it is that someone was behind bars for five years before getting a trial?

While on ketamine.

The article cites a strategist who argues that bringing attention to immigration only helps Trump because immigration is his strongest issue. The unstated assumption is that sentiment on any given issue is basically static and unchanging, that you can't change minds you can only change topics.

Shot in the dark, they're doing keto in the saddest way possible.

Over 200 American outlets under USA Today parent company Gannett will not back candidates “in presidential or national races,” according to USA Today.

“None of the USA TODAY Network publications are endorsing in presidential or national races,” a spokesperson for USA Today, Lark-Marie Antón, said in an email to The Hill on Monday.

My SO and I are always looking for good movies, shows, etc. to fill the month of October. We like things that are atmospheric, cerebral, or just fun. But a lot of the standard recommendations are your typical slasher movies and the like, disgusting body horror, kids movies that we have no interest in, and things that are just plain miserable.

Here's some things we've liked to one degree or another from previous years.

Action Horror / Horror That's Actually Enjoyable

  • Aliens
  • Bram Stoker's Dracula
  • Fright Night
  • Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters
  • The Mummy (1999)
  • Silence of the Lambs
  • Sleepy Hollow (Great? No. Fun? Yes.)
  • Termors 1 & 2
  • Various Stephen King Mini series (IT, The Stand, Rose Red)

Funny and Spooky

  • Army of Darkness
  • BeetleJuice
  • Bubba Ho-Tep
  • Buffy the Vampire Slayer (movie)
  • The Burbs (didn't love it, but a good fit)
  • Death Becomes Her
  • The Frighteners
  • Garth Marenghi's Darkplace
  • Ghostbusters 1 & 2
  • Gremlins 1 & 2
  • High Anxiety
  • Little Shop of Horrors (not really into musicals, but still a good fit)
  • Shaun of the Dead
  • What We Do in the Shadows (movie)
  • Various MST3K horror movie episodes
  • Young Frankenstein

Anthology Shows (inherently hit or miss)

  • The Twilight Zone (60s)
  • The Outer Limits (90s)
  • Tales From the Crypt

Old Timey Classics

  • Dracula
  • Frankenstein (actually underwhelming, but it was a good fit)
  • The Haunting (1963)
  • The Haunting of Hill House (with Rifftrax, but still counts)
  • The Last Man on Earth
  • Psycho
  • The Invisible Man

Barely Qualifies as spooky but still good:

  • Dark Man
  • The Dead Zone (movie)
  • Men in Black
  • Pacific Rim
  • The Shadow
  • They Live

A new poll shows former President Trump leading Vice President Harris by only 2 points in Florida ahead of what could be a tighter-than-expected race in the red state in November.

Trump leads Harris with 49 to her 47 percent support in the Sunshine State, according to a Morning Consult poll released Monday. The poll’s margin of error is plus or minus two points.

And don't get me started on modern conveniences.

It seems like all the other markdown stuff works, but we're missing ^superscript^ and ~subscript~ in connect. As a frequent user of footnotes,^1^ I would greatly appreciate support for these tags.

^1^ Great for citations, explanations, or really stupid tangents

Amazing how one little letter can make such a big difference.
